there is no mention of crafting which I enjoy more than I've enjoyed crafting in any other game. It pulled some concepts from EQ2 but executed WAY better.
Crafting is an interesting thing to talk about. On the one hand, I do find it pretty fun, it has that sort of casino gambling quality where you are looking for those excellents, 100% HQs, etc. That seems like a good way to do MMO mini games. If they added spinning wheels and casino sounds it would be just like vegas.

On the other hand, wow it can be seriously tedious. I'm almost 50 in every trade, doing a 45 ARM levee right now that requires 3 items turned in (x3 for extra xp/gil). Each item requires 4 mythril plates, a 40d crafted sub item. To make sure I HQ every item, I want to HQ every plate. So I need 36 mythril plates crafted, and each one takes about 20 steps more or less to reach 100% HQ, using lots of hasty touches. So just to do a single levee, it's going to take me around 15-20 minutes of crafting (yup, you can AHK it all, but that really shouldn't be necessary). The final 9 crafted items will take 30-40 steps each themselves.

Is that good? Is that bad? I dunno, I got tons of free time and macros so idgaf but I don't really see how anyone else would find this fun without automation. All that for 120k xp, and by the way in the same 25 minutes to craft those 9 items I could have banged out 30 cobalt ingots instead for MORE xp, and sold em all for a big profit. Similarly, it takes me about 30-60 minutes to craft up a full set of gear to spirit bond while leveling 45-50, whereas the fate that sets it to 100% takes under 15 minutes. It just seems bizarre it takes way, way, way longer to make the items than it does to bind and break em down.

If you have good gear for your level (HQ Dodore Doublet 47*, HQ vintage stuff, HQ Tools), You should be able to just straight up craft the plates using standard touches with a reasonable success rate for HQ. Then when you combine the final item do the hasty touches ect. You should not need all HQ mats to HQ the final product, especially if you have Byregot's Blessing & Innovation from CRP and GSM already at 50. In fact I often just sell my HQ components on the AH for cash and use standard mats for my crafting because of how good those 2 skills are cross classed.

It does take a bit to get to that point though, I recommend CRP as one of the first full 50 classes for crafting because of how good Byregot's Blessing is if anyone is thinking of starting up the trade skill path. (After getting WVR, Chef, ALC, GSM to 15)

I'm enjoying most of the game. There are a few problems though. The item decay/durability is terrible, 10 years ago devs thought "Oh, if we put in item decay it'll act as a money sink and remove money from the economy!" They should fucking know better by now. All it does is require huge amounts of money to spew out of everything at the high end to allow bad/mediocre players to keep playing, or they have to put in enough money spewing daily-quest dogshit to compensate. So it accomplishes the exact opposite of what it was theorized to do, inflates and shits on the economy be making it necessary to dump cash on everyone, and they just keep fucking putting it in games anyway?

Oh, WOW did it so i guess everyone has to. Now I have goddamn "collect 20 boar asses" daily quests having development time/resources wasted on them when the devs should be eating/sleeping/shitting nothing but new dungeons and interesting story progression at the moment to keep the game fun/interesting.

Unless it is your first class, that seems like a super tedious way to craft. Should be able to grab just regular non-HQ stuff and make a HQ final product on most attempts. This gets super trivial once you have carpenter to 50.

In any of these upcoming patches has there been any mention of showing what is currently equipped when you hover over an item? That would be the biggest qol improvement they could make for me atm.

FYI there's a lot of speculation going around that they might reset the myth cap again tonight if the patch does indeed raise the cap on them

So... max your myth today.

Just logged in: The cap is still 300, and nothing is reset.

They managed to break storyline progression as well. Can't complete the mission called Fool Me Twice (46).

CM runs are dead. Mobs after first boss have to be killed.

AV is faster, AK and AV give the same 100 Philo tomes. AK still giving 40 Myth. WP is 100 Phil 30 Myth.

Garuda bumped from 10/7 to 15/10.

Think people had already moved on to HM Garuda farming as the way to go, guess it is a good thing they increased it.

How about the "difficulty" changes to the 50 dungeons? Anyone been through Wanderer's or Amdapor yet that noticed any differences?

They basically took out the choo-choo in Wanderer's Palace by forcing you to kill Tonberries.

Botany and Mining were bumped about 50% I'd say. The base xp values are close to the numbers I was getting with rested xp yesterday. (@lv37 while rested -- 1.5k mahogany HQ vs. 1k for HQ yesterday)

You have to grab oils now for some rusty pipes in WP. Not really any more difficult, just forces you to clear. And making 3-5k a run there isnt a bad thing considering how fast it is.

Think I'm starting to get burnt out. Having issues forcing myself to log in knowing I need to do 12 more levels of quests where I right click on something, kill a mobile, get 9k xp, repeat.

If you're burning out with story quests left, wait until you have to mash your way through CM/AK/whatever the flavour of the day is now, over and over, for Philo/Myth to get your Darklight pieces and Relic oil.

The repetitive nature of this game is definitely starting to feel like banging my head against the wall might be a welcome change of pace. The only thing that keeps it fun at the moment is the change of play style between different classes, but even that is fairly thin.
