Final Fantasy XIV (Guide in first post)

Is potd the ultimate levelling experience or what? It's kind of destroying my soul because I've had a lot of fail groups which result in 30 minutes wasted. Is the story dungeon levelling curve that much worse?

Needless to say the next day I convinced my friends to transfer to Zalera because ain't nobody got time for that bullshit.

I am glad I logged back in though, always wanted to play through Heavensward because I thought Ishgard was badass and it is not disappointing me in the slightest. Alphinaud needs to get eaten by a dragon though, that would make my life complete.

POTD was (not sure since SB haven't done it) the best way to exp as a DPS, because the queues are instant. As a Tank or Healer the Dungeon roulettes were better.

What's shitty as a tank is when they throw in no healer. Dungeon is fine until the boss.

You should have a bunch of potions from doing PoTD, I found myself using those pretty frequently when there wasn't a healer. A pomander of steel for the boss will make it much more survivable as well.

Honestly unless you're doing high lvl potd or 41-50, tanking the boss can be done on any class even without pomender of steel. Just avoid the mechanics and it's fine, I've done it with bard and rdm(without self healing) a lot on the 51-60 boss. Higher levels I could see it being an issue, but at higher levels you should spend one of your gelmorran shard thing to buy those Sustain potions and boom you can self heal like a boss if needed.

your welcome!!!! I failed to mention that 800 person queue was at like 9AM EST on a Saturday. That was enough to shake my confidence hehe, and I had very few ties to Gilg anyway.

Other then the graphics being excellent the music in this game has never cease to amaze me. Some of the boss theme songs are awesome. I always liked Titans theme song but Lakshmi's tops it.

So original ARR MSQ is mediocre, but interactive and you get tons of exp for the boredom. The astral era patch content between that and the first expac... god kill me. Its so fucking bad.

Ran out of leves after getting 6/8 crafters to 70. ARM kind of sucks with all the ingots / nuggets required for scrip turn ins and CUL is mat intensive unless you get lucky with a Buckwheat tea, but should be able to finish them by Tuesday.

CUL was the easiest one i've leveled so far! I stuck to the Gyr Albania Flour until like 64/66 (yes it's not a repeatable one but it's retarded simple to make with 20 mins of gathering) and the 66-70 route can be done just by buying the Nomad Meat Pies from the vendor in Reunion, Azim Steppes. Yes, they aren't HQ turn ins but shit, it was as easy as buying a stack off them and just turning them in enmasse.

Edit: I think I did one of the Oils too at around 64-66, that only took 20 mins in gathering and merchant bought items as well.

What I did for crafting all to 70 :

60-66 Any lvl 58 to 61 recipe will get you to 66 easily. lvl 60 Master Craft recipes are good xp and often cheap mats as they are overlooked

66-68 Usually a lvl 64 craft but a 61 recipe will get you here - easy to HQ with Ironworks gear

lvl 68-69 Do your crafting job quests from lvl 63, 65 and 68 - the Stormblood expansion quests give you the mats and these 3 quests give you almost a level

-70 Leves

Finished with 50 Leves spare.

Ramuh and Shiva are my two favorites. Didn't spend quite enough time in HW to get attached to any of the primal music. If I ever get around to farming the birds, though, maybe that'll change.

You can farm most birds with 4 people now. Will be a duo after the second or third savage raid. The HW music is good but Shiva is just legit. It gets me hyped. Arcana is probably my favorite music in Heavensward.

Never do lootmasters and it is good to hop in WT runs instead of bird farms. Bird farms are 8 people that still need it while WT is usually a mix of people who have already and cut down on # to roll against.

Does not apply to Sophia or Zurvan yet, obviously.
