Any spanish speakers available that can clarify the difference between estar and ser?
Estar is for temporary conditions/states, ser is permanent. Or relatively so.
I am happy. Estoy felíz.
I am a man. Soy un hombre.

LMGTFY
Another example where you could use either ser or estar:
Soy borracho - I am a drunk (permanent condition)
Estoy borracho - I am drunk (temporary condition)
Soy infermo - I'm sick (diseased)
Estoy infermo - I'm sick (a cold)
Soy cansado - I'm exhausted/weary
Estoy cansado - I'm tired
Estar for location:
Estoy en la casa - I'm at home (location is a non permanent state)
Hope that helps.
