i would be legit shocked if the show is renewed for season 4, and i'm pretty sure they are gonna end the season with zero answers so its gonna be kinda lulzy how pointless the entire show is. still, i really dig the idea of "there's a fucked up place you can't leave and we can bring in new characters any time we want", too bad it wasn't a netflix show. Its crazy to think that if this was on Netflix and had more younger cast, it probably would have been wildly successful with the exact same idea.

4 episodes later... plan abandoned? lol I don't think a single plot thread has been resolved this season.

This season would have been a lot better if I gave a shit about Fatima. Her and Ellis being cool at the start of the show and one of the ways we learn about colony house through Julie's interactions with them was perfectly fine. We eventually get some Ellis's tragic backstory to flesh him out, some bridges are mended with him and his father, etc.

This arc the two of them got handed is terrible and it's a major plot point of this season. Fatima is always whimpering and he's always frantic and whatever chemistry they had dried up and blew away.

Man, at this point you just need a fucking day where everyone in the town comes together and says what weird shit they've been seeing/hearing/feeling. It would just cut down on the bullshittery by like 10000%. "Oh a ghost is telling you to entrap a woman? Probably not good." "Oh, kill your brother and a little boy? Maybe not the right thing!" "Oh you're eating rotten vegetables and human blood? Maybe we need to investigate this!"

It is hilarious(ly dumb) that every character just gets some supernatural connection and keeps fucking mum about it.

yeah tabitha has seen monsters up close, seen many ghosts, teleported through a tree, teleported to the real world, and even she's all "victor its just a doll there is no way it can talk!!"

i liked this weeks episode at least, Julie's tower scene and Victor's basement scene added a LOT of lore dump in just a few sentences and is pretty fascinating albeit still extremely vague. You can sort of see the bones of the show now, time travel and kids being sacrificed for ?? and possibly everyone in the show is related/reincarnated from evil ancestors but all the pieces tying it together for us are missing. Still its pretty interesting at a high level.

There is a lot of mythology obscured away in the show, like the ghost lady in the Kimono is apparently a japanese ghost monster called a ubume yokai and the lore behind it is tracking the show. One of the ways it kills its victim is trapping them under heavy stones (man under stone in earlier visions). There is a lot of irish/scottish/welsh folklore around evil fairies involving trees, kids, monsters, etc - I think a summer movie called The Watchers had similar themes to this show (forests, trapped people, faeries, feeding on fear, etc).

A lot of plots are definitely converging now (Fatima, Elgin, Julie, Victor, Tabitha, Jade) but I'm not super hopeful they will actually resolve in the final 2 episodes. I do hope the show gets renewed.

You can rewrite those scenes with Sara, Tabitha and Victor such that they accomplish all the same things but without having them not believe Victor. He wants Sara to make Jasper talk, it's not working, he gets frustrated, he tard-rages, she gets help from Tabitha, Tabitha talks him down and the work through the problem from a different angle. Victor, what was the weather like? No one in that basement should bat an eye at a talking doll or a force within the town making it appear that the doll talks.

Twist! The doll wasn't talking at all!

It's like every script is a rough draft.

I haven't seen the latest episode yet but I hope she goes full zombie, eats him, then they have to kill her, remove both of them from the show.

I started watching it because I liked Harold Perrineau when he was on HBO's Oz and I still like him here. Even if the show is dumb. A lot.

Simmons is so fucking evil in that show it still impacts how I view him to this day.

Yeah I would try to watch it flipping channels because I like prison movies like blood in blood out, shawshank and stuff like that. But every time I turned it on some dude was graphically getting his cheeks busted. It was just a gay porn show. Not a good prison drama.
