Shit. Have you seen "luxury house" construction in the states lately? I havent seen so much spray foam and caulk in my entire life and I have no idea how these houses are passing inspection.
I've been following this guy on IG for a while now. But he'll put up all this shit that "aint right" and now every time I go to a new build, or even an older house - I can see all kinds of shit thats "wrong." Even he points out that the caulking guys need a raise because there is just so much caulk used.
On some other thread here (feel free to search.............) I noted something to the amount that the difference between a mcmansion and a mobile home was the wheels. mcmansions have better finishes but they are all made as cheap as possible. There is one builder in Vegas that does not do houses that if I was ever going to build a mcmansion, I would beg them to come build it because they manage them afterwards and they give a shit. Everyone else is about the turnover to get that money.
Needless to say, a lot of the peeps here got offended. So did my SIL when I told her the brand new house she had was a thin layer of stucco with styrofoam behind it.
