So I work with a guy who was flying back to the states from Europe. His flight landed late in London and he ran to the gate. When he got there the plane was still there but they would not let him board since he was super late and they were getting thr plane underway. Ended up having to spend the night and take a different flight the next day. When he woke up he turned on the TV and found out the flight he missed - Pan Am Flight 103 - had exploded over Lockerbie. I asked him if he kept the ticket and he said at the time he was so pissed they wouldnt let him board he threw it away.
