A British woman was refused entry into Thailand because she had ripped out pages of her passport and used them as toilet paper.
Faye Wilson was too ashamed to reveal the truth to immigration officials when they asked her why her document was light.
So a security guard ended up escorting her back to the UK.
'Thai immigration just opened my passport and started looking through it, and asked "what's happened here"?,' she said.
'I just said that I had lost the pages because I was too embarrassed to explain the real reason.
'Before I could explain more, they had deported me back to Dubai and then to Glasgow and confiscated my documents.'
The 28-year-old hairdresser, from the Lake District, had used two pages of her passport to wipe herself on a drunken night out.
'We were walking from one bar to the next and we must have been desperate for a wee and obviously didn't have any toilet roll,' she said.
'We decided it would be a good idea to use my passport, which is obviously really stupid.'
She was planning on spending a month in the Asian country before working for a year in Australia - but was quickly turned back at the airport in Thailand.
Wilson said she'd used the now confiscated passport up to eight times in the past five years since she ripped out the pages and never experienced a problem.
She was finally allowed in the country after returning to the UK and applying for an emergency passport before flying back out to meet her friend in Thailand.
