You are the man, thank you

Hah! that scene got me in trouble. While they were filming part of it, we were sitting off at the casino games. I can't recall which one of us started, but we put a few dollars into the slots. Someone won and security came over and chewed everyone out.

couple more then. First is Sonny, Fred, Ken.. Sonny was a serious biker. I think he was also a photographer for a motorcycle magazine. Talked with him a lot about Harley VS Honda. He had one set of scenes where the talked with the kids about a game (Cobra Triangle as I recall) and then gives them a ride. Anyway, He hung around the set a lot after that. I believe the line he gave got him his SAG card. A LOT of people got SAG cards for this movie.. it was half Nintendo commercial, half "lets do favors". SAG is kind of stupid, as you have to have spoken in frame and on screen to get into the guild, but you can't talk on screen unless your a member. The Production company had to pay a fine for using someone who wasn't SAG. So many favors were called in to get someone one line in a film to get the card.

A couple Back to The Future 2 shots on the Universal set.

One of the setup for some of the shots with the Dinos. The Shotmaker, the truck the crane is on, was an amazing machine. all 3 sets of tires could steer independently so you could make shots where the camera changed lanes without any turning of the shot. It let the framing stay stable. A husband and Wife team ran it as I recall. I think I have a photo of them somewhere

I have never watched this, but I’ll be doing that with my son this weekend. That’s a pretty awesome childhood memory for you and your brother. What does he do now? How often do you guys talk about it? How many tines has it got him laid?

I loved that set. FYI, nearly everything you see there is styrofoam packing painted gray and glued to either cardboard or to plywood for the giant door thing. Danny, the announcer, destroyed his voice that day. By the end he could barely talk at all. It's also the one scene I'm in. I think I still have the orange jumpsuit that says REF on it. I may also have one of the black security ones some where. I did get to take home some of the wardrobe at the end. Some shirts and things. Anyway, the stage this is on was interesting as well, it was all squares that were on pistons. 2x2 squares I think. Anyway, you apply air to a chuck and raise them up or down. I can't remember where it was though.. some college I think?

Here is a couple of Todd Holland, the director. He's the one in the Amazing Stories Jacket. And him walking with Luke and then him sitting on the street, changing the shot script.

And I found the one of me and the Shotmaker. I can't remember the name of the duo who ran it though.

Honestly this is my favorite shit on this forum in a decade. This is so neat seeing all this. I think since we are all gamer nerds, we all loved this movie growing up!!!

Sad thing for me is that we have tons of video as well, but it's in SVHS-C. These tiny SVHS cassettes that you put into an adaptor to view on a SVHS player. Great image quality for it's time.. but nearly impossible to do anything with now. I keep wondering if someone could do a book about the movie.

And FYI, we only got to play Super Mario 3 that one day that I recall. I played a LOT of Golgo 13 though. UGH, Love/Hate that game and the NES controls.

Last photos for a while. First is the AD slamming a mask against a window, they were filming inside. It was a weird night. I think that was in fallon, Nevada, but now I'm not sure. That might be Wes, one of the light handlers doing it.. hard to tell in the photo. If it's the AD, he was also the announcer at the video competition.

A picture of the Tram going by where the crew was setting up on the back of universal. I think we were up in one of the "fake" buildings across the way. Most of the buildings were just facads with walkways by the window. Got chased by a racoon when we tried to explore them during a break.

Frank and my brother while filming the "he touched my breast" scene. Frank was another great guy. A lot of the people on the wizard were "real". Once we spent more time in Hollywood, we realized how rare it was. Honestly, its a BAD place for kids. Really bad. While it was a great experience, and I still keep in touch with a few of them, I'm glad my parents pulled us away from there. Everyone ends up so fake and so.. self serving?

One last one of Luke and I. I can't recall if I I put this one up. Luke was a great kid. Played a lot of Micro Machines and stuff with him to kill time while waiting. Really long, hot days for a kid as young as he was. I am amazed he didn't have a melt down.

Dude, start your own thread. Each day, each week, whatever, but add pics and tell the story about the pic. Besides meeting a local weatherman, Herschel Walker and a few members of bands from concerts I attended, this is the closest I have come to a celebrity.
