Happened to my friends car in Houston during Hurricane Alicia in '83. A tree between our driveway and the neighbors house fell right across his car without touching it, and took out the 7 or 8' long roof covering the path between the house and garage without touching either. 4 feet to the right and that would have been right through the pillow on my bed. Mind you this happened while I was in the middle of my annual 20 hour drive up to Chicago for GenCon so I didnt find out about it till I checked in next day, but I was probably happier missing that particular shock.
My mom missed her long awaited Simon and Garfunkle concert which got cancelled by the hurricane too.- 2
