I wasn't looking for it, it just kinda jumps out at you doesn't it? I mean the artist draws her sitting in clothes that would have her crotch hanging out, then specifically chooses to use a cat to block the view, seems like my joke is exactly what he was going for. The cat deliberately draws attention to what it's concealing.

I get what you mean, and wasn't trying to infer that you were. It is pretty clever. Add in how it's clearly about a vulnerable kid that is probably running away, and only has her little bat to protect herself with, and it becomes an incredibly great element to the picture.
