Did people really think we would have flying cars and hoverboards by 2015? That we would crack harnessing gravity, miniaturize it, and produce affordable home versions in 30 years? Let's take all of the cars in America, raise them up into the sky with anti-gravity or flying and not question what is going to happen when all of the old grandmas, teenagers, drunk drivers, and other irresponsible people who shouldn't even have a ground car license hit the skies and put them in a situation where all accidents are now mid-air collisions and breaking down on the shoulder now means plummeting to the Earth. Oh yeah, I forgot we have to slap a nuclear/fusion reactor in each of these to power it. So... even if we COULD do you think the auto industry would approve it? The insurers? The government?
And then 9/11 happened. Yeah, we're never getting flying cars so accept that it was just a movie fantasy.
