If we were going by prosecutions, almost none of them would be, because our anti-terrorism laws are about foreign organizations. Even clear cut cases of terrorism, like Timothy Mcveigh, was not classified as such. And he actually was found to violate one of the rarer criminal statutes, use of
weapons of mass destruction against American citizens. So I was using The Root's own definition, which is right in the article!
Domestic terrorism: Perpetrated by individuals and/or groups inspired by or associated with primarily U.S.-based movements that espouse extremist ideologies of a political, religious, social, racial, or environmental nature.
You see, in Domestic Terrorism, motivation is a factor. This is why The Root didn't have to include the largest amount of mass murders BY FAR, by a ridiculous degree--gang/crime related mass murders. In 2015 there were
65 mass murders that were not derived from criminal activity. (Standford controls for it, 3 or more killings in a single incident makes their cut off)...Meanwhile, there were
270 Gang related mass shootings (Actually slightly more because the cut off here is 4 or more people shot per incident, so more stringent than Stanford). Now, the VAST majority of "gang related" violence is not done by white people, its done by Latino and black gangs. And it DWARFS mass shootings for any other reason.
But THE ROOT did not include ANY these gang related mass shootings. Because it has a SPECIFIC definition for what constitutes domestic terrorism, which requires an ideological motive. According to THAT definition, multiple entries don't fit. If the Root wants to include ANY mass violence, by all means, lets do it. But they've got a lot more black and brown violence to track there (A single year may exceed the entire decade+ of data). But since they decided to not include just any mass shootings, then going by their stipulations the men I mentioned are NOT domestic terrorists. They did not kill for any ideology, and/or they were not operating for domestic ideologies.
So I'm explaining to you
how the Root defines terrorism. Then explaining how they just
lied to you because they know you won't take 2 minutes out of your life to question the narrative they are laying down or even do a cursory check over their 'facts'. Again, though, if you want me to shit on whatever stupid liberal scripture you've decided to blindly swallow, come down to the politics thread. Or just..you know, take the minute and think for yourself and stop posting easily debunkable bullshit in the FSR? Because its not like these tools are sophisticated in how they lie to you.
