maybe the user should have just payed the $4 toll instead of running the booth?
This has nothing to do with EV vs gas, or pinko vs Real American; and everything to do with Fucking the already fucked. Every bank, prison and court house is slapping on Fees, fees to print the fees, fees to tell you that they printed the fee, a fee for all the paper your transaction generated, and another fee since they went paperless.
you don't america right?
ezpass handles most of the east coast tolls, it's a stupid white rectangle you stick on your windshield the size of a garage door opener(this is important)
when you approach a toll you either stay on the left lane and it'll be like a 2 lane ezpass only and you drive at like 40 and the overhead cams will register your ezpass and snap your license, and there is no operator, just go
or they can be stupid and say "you are approaching a toll, pick the lane that is either cash/ezpass or both and you end up in a "choose your lane" and cause conjestion
most ppl will not take operatorless ezpass, they will want to take an ezpass with an operator, b/c it will have a pay bridge and scan your car for an ezpass and lift it up and say go, or if there is an issue with your ezpass, the operator will say something.
now you have to ask, why does this happen?
and that is b/c ezpass fails
a lot
why? well maybe it's designed to fail so they can charge you all those stupid fees!, and maybe they want to charge you all those stupid fees b/c they hope you don't notice the mail so they can charge you even more late fees!
1 listed reason ezpass fails is b/c you drive too fast for the computer to pick it up, but amazingly the cameras can still take a pic of your license plate tho!, so what ends up happening? ppl slow down to 5mph to make sure the ezpass is picked up (even tho there is no visual confirmation most times)
2 listed reason is credit card based
a. you are over the limit, so they can't charge you 4$, so fine
b. credit card thinks it is stolen so charge is rejected, so fine
c. you forgot to update the expiry date, so fine
guess what the most common issue is, even if you are very studious with all your bills
yup, 2c
(even if you put a backup cc, which they implemented later on, b/c of complaints)
does it also make sense to have the ezpass "fail" b/c you can pass through 4 tolls on a typical intrastate trip?, yup thats a separate admin fee per toll
