I’ve definitely had it happen in large groups where there is an automatic minimum gratuity. Which at least makes sense.
That is just dumb.

That would make sense to me too. Situation where you had multiple servers working a large group or something like that. I try to tip when possible, especially now during a time where people are choosing not to work.
