Silsbee is north of Beaumont, Pro Wrestler and Olympic powerlifter Mark Henry is from there. His brother Pat was a Defensive Lineman at Texas A&M. Channelview is just outside of Houston on the east side. I don't know anyone from there off the top of my head.

I used to live in Highlands in the 80’s. My step dad worked in Channelview. Brown & Root is there, which is where he worked. Never saw anything else there except the B&R plant. I loved going there. There was a black guy named Mac that would prep the semi’s and he would let me “work” with him. The summer time was always the best because that’s when I got to go.
I guess it must have been bought out or is no longer there. Did a quick search and didn’t really find anything.
