Yarp, cat thefts have seen a surge in most major cities. Some trucks have huge cats that cost $3000+ to replace, not counting the damage the thieves do when they sawzall it out.
Fun fact: It's illegal in the US to sell used catalytic converters to the public. They can not be legally reused and can only be recycled.
These are reported (mostly for insurance claims) thefts, the police cant do shit about it, so I doubt many people with high deductibles go through the trouble of making a report: View attachment 432067
