Kind of what I was thinking. My brother is old enough to have had the Atari 2600 and he had probably half a dozen different types of controllers for that thing. Im too young to remember it, I played on the Nintendo 8 bit or the Commodore 64 first. Cant remember which my family bought first - we were poor as fuck back in the 80's. I had to be around 4 or 5 before I got one, so well past their release date.

Not sure if the below counts as said mandatory image, but fuck it. I remember typing these abominations in for days just to play a home brew game until I got bored 10 minutes later on the ole Commodore 64.

Had one of these as a kid. Think I was 13 or 14 when I stripped a wire from a broken lamp and hooked it up to the battery leads to see how bright the bulb would get. Cord had a little dial switch. Soon as I clicked it - boom. Gave myself quite the shock.
