I did this once in a pinch when I didn't have any of my tools - not nearly as fancy, no switch, just neutral and hot twisted together. Scared the absolute shit out of me when the instantaneous didn't activate and it took about 5 seconds or so for the breaker to actually trip and my Breaker Finder 1000 was beginning to smoke. I also didn't anticipate all the lights between that outlet and the panel would be on that circuit. All in all, I rate the idea 0/10, I would not recommend.
