G13 and Orbweaver prices have jumped up to $200+ NIB due to no longer being manufactured and Razer and Logitech both being idiots.
Seriously? I have both of these and don't use them.

I might be overthinking this monitor thing. As much as I want an ultrawide (particularly one with hardware g-sync), I'm probably better off just mounting 3x LG 27GL83A-B on a triple monitor bow.
Whats the quantifiable difference between that LG and the same one on that page for 500 that is nano ips vs ips?

I was once told that it has to do with the glass that is used to make the displays. The glass comes from machines that produce sheets of certain size, and anything smaller is cut from those sheets. That is the reason why we have some sizes, or else they'd have glass left over.

I guess a 28" 16:10 would do. Can't find any of those either...

There definitely used to be 29" 2560x1440 displays, I can find many references to them from 2014 and earlier.

downscaling the resolution to 1440p wouldn't be a big deal anymore with a 4k display, right?
Depends. Rescaling content is always a bit iffy, but in this day and age its done through the GPU. The GPU scales and maps textures all the time, so a single image isn't hurting, but the image quality will always be inferior to a native picture - especially on high contrast edges like text.
