I dont hate capitalism, lol. Its just that when capitalism runs unregulated you get your googles, twitters, bell telecoms of the 80s etc... Pretty much monopolizing the industries. You cannot have capitalism without rules and regulations. Because if ran unfettered its possible you would get one company in the end that controls it all. What content you consume, what food you eat, what you do in your free time and what you wipe your ass with. Because the whole goal of capitalism is to win in the end.

The "some fucking regulation" can easily turn in to control. Most of us here don't trust the goverment to regulate video games. Mist is right, this is you sounding like the Ds thinking government can just solve everything.

Rather simplistic way to look at capitalism and justy let it do its thing without some government regulations lol. Enjoy your googgles, microsofts and the now what? 4 major game companies running like 60-70% of all AAA games produced (microsoft being one of them)?

Regulate it exactly as much as they do the gambling industry. They want to make it so 5 year old can wander into a Vegas casino and blow their allowance on slots, I’m good with that. Just no reason to pretend that mobile games these days aren’t gambling.

Its all related dumbass. This is why we have Microsoft controlling 50% or more of the games you will play in the future. Its all due to non regulating the shit and anti trust. Its why google is the way it is now controlling what you watch and search for for 90% of the internet, basically unregulated. Sure govt is enemy, cant be trusted blah blah.. but corpos are fucking worse because not only do they have a political agenda but a profit agenda as well. Its basically picking the less of the two evils. Now im not saying all regulations are good, shit prob 3/4 of them are shit. But you do need to regulate corporations so they dont do what they do like with with mobile games, which again, are fucking casinos that dont have to pay out, just collect.

No theres a fundamental difference.

From a technical standpoint yeah gaming is better. Steam being relatively idiocy free has meant content delivery is vastly better, no longer have to fuck around with patches or losing cdkeys. Graphically yeah obviously better.

As far as how genuinely fun games are today? Its objectively worse. Paradigm of this is SC and SC2. I played an ungodly amount of hours of SC when I was a kid thanks to the never ending stream of fun custom maps. I played next to zero SC2 because Blizzard killed the SC2 custom map scene in their greedy attempt to own the next DOTA, something that doesnt need to be explain in terms of its impact in gaming and beyond.

Private servers had great communities around them even without the need for Twitter or Discords.

Stories wherent riddled with SJW retardation nor where you forced to endure equally retarded censorship in the online aspects of gaming. You could call someone a retarded faggot if they where being a retarded faggot with zero consequence.
