I think with the kids sometimes there is a popup in a game offering an item for sale or something. They don't even read it, just click the button that looks the most like a go-away button so they can get back to the gameplay. One of my nephews drained 100 from my brother's phone that way.

I'll not admit the amount of birthday money my kid has blown on roblox. If I didn't expect an American economic collapse in the very near future, I'd be concerned.

Yea, my kids are always wanting money for Roblox. It's crazy to me and of course trying to explain it's a waste of money to a 9 year old goes no where. My wife fell down the mobile game rabbit hole a few months back. She started playing a house decorating game. Well she wanted the nicer furniture and started dropping a dollar or two on pieces of furniture. Well, it got worse because she started losing count on how much she was spending. In one month it was $200 on pixel furniture and she had no idea she had spent that much. Mobile games are predatory and the fact they are designed around making you spend money to play should not be categorized as a "game"

Somehow my mother got tied up in a high tier guild in Rise of Empires. I didnt know anything about it until Im out with my parents and my Mom asked me to pay for something cause she forgot her cards. Later, my father told me he had to treat her like a child and cancel her bank cards and restrict access to the bank because of that game. If it had got that bad, she had to be in the retard league for pissing money away cause my father usually lets her buy whatever the fk she wants. Long story short, I'm not exactly sure she regrets spending the money which is kind of freaky.

its really only going to get worse, tik tok really trains kids to have 8 second attention spans and be in the constant dopamine hit for new stuff, the MTX that comes along for the next generation is going to be insane in ways we can't even imagine

Like I said before, all these "mobile games" are is a digital interface to extract peoples money and they need to be strictly regulated. Not only that, but its reaching into the consoles and PC games as well.

Yeah they do need to be regulated. Its like gambling, pure loot box RNG bullshit with low chances on getting digital items, and the beauty of all this is they dont even need to pay anything out if you do win. Its like a casino without any of the drawbacks.
