And is one reason the desert planet AthasBarsoom is named AthasBarsoom because half(roughly) of the planet will resemble Barsoom of ERB and the Barsoom in Robert Heinlein's book. She is the third most beautiful girl in the Universe of Deseret after Dawn, Eos' daughter and Eos herself. Eos is the most beautiful girl and goddess in the metaverse but you can only see her veiled. Of course in Deseret on one of the Planets of the Gods and Goddesses you may find the Apostle Paul walking around in one of his Aspects in which case you step out of the way unless your directly under him. There are five not two primary solar systems access between systems is through the Wayship, the Dayship (The Dawn Treader) in its Spelljammeresque form, other, slower Etherships, X-Wings (limited to the sole hi-tech region on each planet and Deseret, rather tempermental gates and of course Vortexes. A Fourth Wave species briefly mentioned in Jack Chalker's The Return of Nathan Brazil. A good series to read as it'll introduce you to some of the Species you'll meet. There are 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th (many exotics) waves first and fourth wave exotics tend to be the most powerful. Malefics are the prototypical 1st wave species-very Bolgy Very Eaty. A Malefic will eat an Ancient Dragon of any color metal or gem for lunch. The Malefic, King of all Malefics and Beholders, and TipQ and Vanyar, can eat a Black Hole.

I've read all of those books (All the ERB books and The Number of the Beast by Heinlein). Ever since my horny adolescent self read ERB I've had a thing for Dejah Thoris. I honestly had totally forgotten that the chick in TNoTB was also named Dejah Thoris, as it was 35+ years ago that I read it. I do remember there being tons and tons of sex in that weird book though. So you're telling me there's a chance?
