Wait until we find out how much it makes at the box office. I'm sure that'll be a hole fit to die in.If anyone is digging holes I could use one to crawl into and die please.

Pretty much how I feel. Bridesmaids was plenty funny. I'm still curious about this one but the trailer wasn't funny at all. A lot of trailers for comedies ruin the movie by spoiling the best jokes, but when they can't even find any decent ones for the trailer it's not very encouraging.Bridesmaids was a hilarious movie, people who didn't enjoy that film have a garbage sense of humor. If they are going to remake Ghostbusters I have no problem with them casting 4 women as the main characters to shake things up a bit. I have kept as open a mind about this film as anyone could. That trailer didn't make me crack a smile once.
yeah, he never came across as a token role to me either when i was a kid, later as an adult i realized that he likely was, but he never felt like he was a tacked on jar jar binks type of role to spice things up. thats smart writing. this trailer looks quite dumb. And he filled an important role due to how it allowed the others to play off of him. He was the straight-man that was able to point out all the insane shit that was going on around him. I'm guessing Leslie Jones' character is still intended to fit that role since she's the non-scientist, but instead of being the down-to-earth straight-man Winston was, she's going to be an over-the-top caricature.
thats not time travel its the same shit from ghostbusters 2. titanic comes into port and ghosts roll out.so some spoilers about the movie, dont open if you wanna go in a virgin
some of the original cast like Murray, Akroyd, and Hudson make cameos but as DIFFERENT characters. Most likely Hudson will play Jones uncle who loans her the hearse. So its 100% a hard reboot that erases the original movies from the timeline.
There is some time travel probably, someone noticed this in the trailer

Taxi Driver was 1976, Island of the Snake People was 1971
This morning ectoplasm was thrown everywhere when Sony released the first full trailer for Paul Feig?s Ghostbusters.
All of the information leading up to the moment was through scoops, speculation and insiders with special access.
It?s been so secretive that it was never clear if this was going to be a reboot or one of those modern day remakes disguised as a sequel (by keeping it canon).
The trailer definitely made it clear that this new Ghostbusters is legitimately a reboot, a fresh start if you will, completely ignoring the previous two films and several cartoon series. In the trailer you can see them building the equipment, and also see nods to the original like with the library ghost.

Feig confirms this in a new interview (via Cinemablend), where he explains exactly why he chose to go this path instead of keeping it in the same universe as the 1984 original.
?This is such an amazing franchise, with two amazing movies, but it could just keep going! There?s so many things you can do with it. It just seemed terrible to leave it in a box. And yet, at the same time, there?s something exciting about the idea of bringing it to a new generation, but this time? see an origin story of them. I know some people are like, ?Why is it not a sequel instead of a reboot?? I didn?t like the idea, personally, of them being handed technology ? ?Here?s how to do this.? I want to see it develop!?
It?s clear by the below trailer that we?re going to see things ?develop? and it makes quite a bit of sense to truly start building from the ground up, considering these characters are going to have to live on in a brand new Ghostbusters-verse that?s being planned. It would be cool to see the original Ghostbusters connected in some way, but I?d rather have a fresh start than complete fan-service, which we?re going to get in heavy doses anyways.
So basically they did a reboot because ripping off the origin from the original is considered a lower risk then giving the new team there own origin.
You're in luck! There's a thread with over 500 pages for you to pour over. Just make sure you have a significant length of rope to hang yourself with or a suitably long pier to walk off once you're finished.Today I also found out there is something called "cissexism" and apparently I am a "cissexist" and I am sort of unsure what it is but I'll get back to you when I figure it out.
And that is relevant because me saying this movie was gonna be fucking god awful somehow indicated my cissexism. That world is fucking weird to type, why two S's.
Damn it! Now I want to watch the original again! They make neither films, nor trailers, like they used to! :/Anyone who thinks this will be anything other than a steaming pile of shit needs to have their head examined.
In an effort to save this thread.
