Gravel decided the writing was going to suck as soon as they ran out of book source material and has dedicated himself to proving it ever since. Given that, he's not really worth arguing with.
That's not true. In fact, I've been quite critical of how meandering the writing in books 4 and 5 was.

I'm just pointing out that the further we get into this story, the more the plot holes have started to open and logic within the story has fallen apart.

Honestly, this show is starting to look like LOST. It started off amazing, but they really didn't have everything sorted out for the end game (and this is more the fault of GRRM, as opposed to LOST where who the fuck knows what happened). So instead we just get a lot of "well, ignore that" and magic to explain away bad writing.

It's still one of the better shows on TV (top 5 for sure), but it could've been better. This feels like another situation where if anyone is critical of something, it means we don't like it. That's not true, it's just hoping for better. The show could be better, and calling it out for that isn't the same as saying the show is shit.

Yeah but the shit you're calling out is silly. You are complaining about not having an explanation for things that were literally and explicitly explained by major characters in the show or that would be resolved by just looking at a fucking map (you know the show starts with one right? It even moves around and shit and has labels for locations).

Nothing in the plot is "falling apart" and no one is telling you to "ignore that". I am telling you that you might need to pay a bit more attention to the words that the characters are saying however.

Every single show or movie or book COULD be better (especially better when made by hindsight, internet sideliners). There are a TON of actual creative critiques you could be making, but you are focusing on shit that was, almost to the point of looking into the camera and telling you, explained.

The magically teleporting characters bothered me before, but the time crunch on this is getting ridiculous.

Dany's sitting up in her rock room for a span of time that encapsulates:

-The interception of Yara's fleet
-The Unsullied ships sailing around the continent to Casterly Rock
-The triumphal procession returning to King's Landing
-The march of the full Lannister standing army to Highgarden
-Euron disembarking from King's Landing and sailing aaaaall the way to Casterly Rock himself.

So how long has Jon Snow been kept at Dragonstone twiddling his thumbs? Bran arrives at Winterfell and we can only assume he'll park there for X amount of time mumbling about being the Three Eyed Raven without actually telling anyone anything of importance or interest (I think he literally only exists to provide the reveal on the Tower of Joy.)

So like 2 months? Tops? You also left off Jon traveling from Winterfell to Dragonstone.

Dire wolves you just explain as big wolves. That's not magic.

The trees is definitely a good example. And since you mentioned those, it did remind me about the green seers. That shit is definitely "magic." Not sure if there was any warging going on south of the wall, but that's a possibility as well. So I stand corrected.

I'm sure the mountains "life" is also sustained by normal every day science as well. *nods*

At any rate, it's everywhere.

I was specifically asking about pre-Daenerys' dragons.

But I came up with a few examples since then. Magic was definitely a part of the world before then, and not just stories. I feel like there's a bit of a disconnect there still, but I'll look past it mostly because I read the books so long ago (I swear there was something about magic not being a thing, but that's doesn't jive with Green Seers, for instance).

This is like watching the battles of retarded man fighting fat kid.
Yes the show does travel poorly, it has done so from the start back when they filled it with rotten shit which we still all loved because the characters were somewhat authentic and the filming was beautiful. It is more so annoying now that they cut the shit out but they didn't really and the gaps are not filled as many cues time has passed.

The only thing more annoying would be them finding a way to destroy the wall of thousands of years in some symbol of Trump/Mexico so I can only hope they don't go that full stupid, or more scenes of dickless men sexing up women. Scream seems very vested into this show somehow so I assume we have tons of both including dickless men tearing down said wall, probably while sexing up hot women or transexs. Maybe wolves or crows or cattle at the same time. Who knows.

Other than that can you people not enjoy one of the better series to ever be done for entertainment? Also in season 3 fire bitch said she would meet Arya again when she looked into her eyes and took the smith bastard. Did that ever occur or still to come?

You know we have to pick every single thing apart that we watch. It's the way of this community and not limited to this thread. I still fully enjoy the show and the hour it's on always flies by. That being said, there has been a clear drop in quality of dialogue and writing in general. Give me a few Hardhome-quality episodes and I'll forgive all.

Wasn't the big red comet from like s1-2 supposed to be the harbringer of magic returning to the world?

In before someone completely forgot about the comet.

Oh I agree the writing has been worse and admit the time zipping made worse by such and reduced acts of banter of events being snapped around. Everyone knows Hollywood has no idea how to write when source material runs drys. It is why we keep getting the same things over and over and over in movies and tv series. STILL, just like 90% of the people in this imaginary world, we are all destined to watch them run this show into shit. Drink wine and be merry I say.

Those scenes were including explicitly for your benefit. Look at how much you talk about it. I could probably get word to a few people if you really need a lot more of it.

Yes, that's what I was getting at earlier. The dragons/comet/white walkers all appeared at once and were supposed to be when magic came back into the world.

But that's clearly not the case. So fuck if I know.

Ya that's my biggest beef with the season so far - time travel fuckery aside, some of the writing/dialogue is borderline Australian soap opera and a lot of it is out of character (given past interactions etc). Other than that though, it's still a good hour of television and is basically nerd porn every week so hard to complain too much.

What? What magical shit (other than the wall which existed for 8k years) was in the world prior to the comet? Dire wolves showed up south of the wall around the same time

I doubt they care for my word or yours and at this point they are not going to waste the final 6 hours adding more dickless sex scenes because you ask it so.

the everyday GoT magic isnt the same as the post-comet GoT magic. basically everything got supercharged. it made daeny's dragon eggs go from dormant to active. turned wildfire into super wildfire. it probably caused the Night King to have an erection that lasted longer than 4 hours and now he marches south for the cure.

Green Seers

The Warlocks of Qarth have been around the whole time

Pyromancers still existed the whole time too, just not known about and were shunned by other alchemists.

The Three Eyed Raven has been around the whole time. (Though hes a green seer as well I suppose)

The Faceless have been around the whole time

so on and so on and so on.
