If I'm too lazy to read the book but want to listen to the audiobook does that make me confirmed knight of the flowers gay level?

That picture is funny. EVERYBODY knows Peter Dinklage's name now.

xadion, I thought the same with the hawk as well. I figured he would go tell someone, maybe a warg friend? I dont know, unless he can make a hawk speak English.
i dont think mance could understand what a hawk or even a warg hawk has to say. dude should have invested in a crow.

It's contingent on shooting conflicts and where it is being shot (travel involved).

I see what you did there...

as for the warning thing- I thought of it more as- he transferred himself to the hawk (that John could not have managed to grab and pluck the birds head?!...anywho)- he then would fly back and find another warg to go into a bird- and bird talk to each other... then he could sit on Mance's shoulder...yeah...I told ya I was over thinking it and grasping at straws.

The best part about the audiobooks is hearing the old guy narrating the books go over the graphic detail of the sex scenes JRR puts in. Its like having grandpa tell you about his first time.

What has intrigued me about this show for the past 3 seasons has been the scale of character alignment. See below:

snip

Now with most if not all of the truly good people dead it's hard to find someone to root for. Feels weird man.
Maybe this is why I like Joff and the Lannisters so much. When I roll a character in NWN or BG my character isalwayschaotic evil. Without fail. I'm not playing lawful good. Not a chance in hell. My first playthrough of Fallout 3? I nuked the fuck out of Megaton. I beat Fallout New Vegas my first playthrough in about 10 hours because instead of helping all the factions and recruiting them first things first was to kill the faction leader. When I first played Oblivion I left a trail of bodies in my wake. So maybe I just see the humor and entertainment in Joff because he is just so hilariously evil.

Lady Stoneheart's scene was shot indoors? could do that in a day back in hollywood. hell, they could have already shot her scenes since they know how its going to tie in later on.

Since the past episode has aired I have now truly come to understand how different my world view is compared to the norm, especially within geek/nerd culture.

I have been reading the books after each season is over. It is so rare that I find something truly entertaining on TV that I enjoy not knowing what is going to happen ahead of time on the show. My girlfriend has read all the books and knew what was coming. She sat there waiting for my reaction the whole time Sunday night.

During the silent credits she is like..."You shouted out at least a dozen times that Catelyn and Robb better be fucking dead for good...and die die die horrible shitty worthless characters".

I was ecstatic with glee during that episode. They wiped out 3 of the most annoying characters all at once.

To all the people who were actually upset about that scene in the book/show I ask you this. WHY!? Why the fuck would anyone give two shits that Catelyn got whacked? Robb Stark!? Who cares?! Neither of them contributed anything to the story except fucking up and causing more problems. All through books 1 & 2 I kept wondering why do we need to read anything about Cat? She was an evil stepmother right out of a crappy Disney movie. All she did was shit on everything and treat Jon Snow like garbage. Oh lets just go against the "king of the north" and let Jaime free to try to strike some backdoor deal with the Lannisters. Whoops now my son's entire army is going to fall apart due to infighting. She should have been put to death for treason right then and there. Then we have Robb "entitled son" Stark who betrayed everything his father stood for, honor, by going back on his word and breaking his vow to Frey by marrying some random piece of ass. He died for it. It was glorious. Frontier justice at its finest.

Friends on facebook are crying like little girls. Folks who read the books first talk about how upset they were. I truly do not understand it. I didn't care at all about any of those characters. I keep asking anyone posting they were upset to show me anything those characters did which made you care for them at all.

I am seriously not trolling at all or trying to cause an argument in the slightest. I am honestly shocked at the reactions of the masses to this. Give me more Bran and friends. Jon Snow and the up north adventures are interesting. The Lannisters drama is great. Jaime and his antics. Dany can die in a fire and just have Bran take over her dragons. I love how they cropped out one of the most boring useless story lines.

King of the North? I piss on his grave.

Most people are just "OMG THEY KILLED THE MAIN CHARACTER AGAIN", but really it's been talked about here at length.

I didn't consider Robb Stark the main character at all.

In my mind I look at the story as magic has come back in the world and humanity needs to get their shit together, stop their petty bickering and get ready for war against the white walkers. Once most of the idiots kill each other off then the survivors can band together and head north for face the real challenge. The story so far is all foreplay. Humanity is the main character.

Exactly, film a couple of scenes for the tail end of next season (or whenever, I must admit I can't remember when she resurfaces) and she can sign for other shows for 18 months. Varys' actor was in Suits as well towards the end of the season for a few brief appearances and he now jointly owns the firm so I'm sure he'll be back as well.

Or even just do the hooded figure routine, you only see her from behind as she looks up at Brienne who goes "You! Nooo?!" keeping the non-book readers puzzled as to who it is - cut to black with Don't Fear The Reaper playing during the credits.

Joffrey gets beat up by young girls. When real combat erupts he leaves a trail of urine in the wake of his retreat. Maybe you just like blonde hair.

We need some Boltons for evil here now. Jaime turned good and Cersei's just a cunt, that's not an alignment.

a) It's been played and sung several times in the series. It's not the show's fault you don't remember it.
.
There's a world of difference between Bronn and his men singing it before Blackwater, the version sung in a really low tone over barely audible music and the "instrumental" version that featured in the Red Wedding. I bet the majority of non book readers didn't realise the significance

Question to the non book readers - how many of you knew that the band playing "Rains of Castermere" was the signal for the slaughter to start? Or rather did you recognise that tune as being Rains of Castermere?
