Harrington and Clarke crap actors.
Emilia Clarke did a great job in s1. In s2 where she was required to constantly yell and threaten "Where are my dragons?" she did poorly. I have a feeling she will get back to her s1 form now with some real material to work with.

You're probably right. I watched the show before I read the first book but I remember Tyrion being very likable in the books also.
I also watched the show before I read the books, but love Tyrion's character and Peter Dinklage really nails the attitude and "snarkiness." Jon Snow is definitely my favorite character in the novels and I like its been said I imagine that they will mature his character this season and really build him up to replace Rob as the shows "hero." Also...the ending of ADWD can fucking suck it.

Brienne was awesome in the books. Her chapters with Jamie were some of the best.
She had her ups and downs for me, the chapters with Jaime felt awesome mostly because of Jaime. He really is one of the best characters both in the books and on the show.

Clarke did a good job playing Dany the little girl but a terrible job at Dany the targ princess.

Tyrion was definitely a favorite and likeable character years before the show was even pitched.

I sometimes wonder if GRRM didn't intend Tyrion to be so likable and if he's rethought the character based on watching Peter Dinklage own the role like a boss. Same goes for any other character really.
According to GRRM Tyrion is the character most like him. He is written to be sympathetic. I mean he does some fucked up shit but you love him anyway.

If your dad stole the whore you loved and tried to have you killed it's not all that fucked up to shoot him.

First off I wasn't even speaking to that situation. Second there is a pretty solid theory Varys placed her there.

Yeah it never made much sense to me that Tywin would be banging some whore. And of all the whores in the kingdom, he would take his dwarf son's sloppy seconds. And he was sick (poisoned?) and shitting his brains out, doesn't seem like he would be too keen on vag hammerin. The whole scene is suspect.

He wasn't shitting his brains out, quite the contrary. His shit was not coming out, and starting to poison his blood flow. Which is most likely why his corpse stunk so much, and why there was immediate stench when Tyrionn shot him in the gut. (i think this symptom was described as being caused by one of Oberyn's favourite poisons)
How that impacted his whore pussy hammering ability is unknown!

He was poisoned by Varys, for the same reason that Varys killed Kevin later. Also, my personal opinion is that Varys planted Shae there to enrage Tyrion and get him to kill Tywin, who he knew was stuck on the toilet.

It's pretty clear that he did manage to shit, either on death or before. So, immediate stink right there. Tyrion thinks to himself that he has proof the rumor that Tywin shits gold was not true.

I've never had trouble believing that Tywin was banging Shae, just because it kind of fits with his desire to punish Tyrion for being Tyrion and also killing his wife. Similarly I have no trouble believe she was placed there by Varys, though the timing on that and the sheer level of manipulation required to make it work is suspect.

Wasn't really him shitting; him getting shot in the gut just released the smell of all that crap that he had backed up from the poison. Varys also knew that Tywin was pretty much going to be on the crapper all night and had plenty of time to make the Shae plant.

so Vary's initial plan was to poison Tywin, blame it on shae and then have her killed? or was he planning on tyrion killing them both and thus covering Vary's tracks? because when he killed Kevan he wasnt exactly being subtle and he ended up an outcast from KL after tyrion killed his dad. so what was Vary's plan and what was shit he thought of on the fly?

For once, his father did what Tyrion asked him. The proof was the sudden stench, ashis bowels loosened in the moment of death. Well, he was in the right place for it, Tyrion thought. But the stink that filled the privy gave ample evidence that the oft-repeated jape about his father was just another lie.

Lord Tywin Lannister did not, in the end, shit gold.
I get the smell could be from piercing the bowels or whatever, but it says right there he shit. Because he shit.

And here I am arguing about whether he shit or not...
