So it's 5 books with a 6th on the way? Presumably each season is roughly one book. I'll probably pick them up and read them now that the show is done for this year.

I still think Dany is the biggest potential power. Stanos seemed to allude to it in the final episode when he talked about that table they were sitting at. Something about Dany's family riding on the back of a dragon roflstomping everyone. Have they said how those dragons died? I feel like they did in one of the scenes with Geoffry in the throne room but I forget now.
No, they haven't mentioned what happened to the dragons. There was a scene this season where Tywin mentioned that the last living dragon was basically some runt and I think the show touched upon the point that the dragons had become progressively smaller in the centuries since Aegon conquered Westeros.

No, because it's not like they couldn't go become farmers and shit if they wanted. They choose to live there and live as raiders instead of farmers.
I thought you would get what I was talking about since you posted that sausage gif... sometimes a sausage isn't just a sausage.

And uncles aside, Theon is the last of Balon's male heirs... he's used to be well know for his dick apparently now he's a eunuch and can't impregnate bitches. You better believe that he's going to be bitter and people are going to be laughing behind his back if he ever says his family words.

Theon, "We do not sow."

Everyone else, "You mean can't sow, right?"

Finally got around to watching the punk girl videos linked earlier in this thread, thanks for those. If you haven't seen them yet, they are safe to watch (no spoilers beyond what's been on TV) and they add some nice backstory to the Houses. There's lots of snippets in the show here and there but I didn't really get the overview until I watched these.

I'm sure you can find the rest on her channel. Don't read the comments though, caught a glimpse of a spoiler there already.

I thought the creators of the show have already said that they are aiming at 7 seasons? There's no way in hell this show lasts 10+. It'll get too expensive, actors are going to want to move on, etc.

I would love to know what actors read the books and those who didn't. Imagine Sean Bean trying out for Tywin Lannister and getting cast as Ned Stark instead. Would go from "hell yes, I got the part", to "fuck me, not again!".

They kill enough people off that paying a few characters long term shouldn't break the bank.

Bitch, you said

that theHousethat has the saying "We do not sow," can't "sow" even iftheywanted to now
There's at least 3 swinging Greyjoy dicks out there still, the House can sow plenty. You're joke was stupid and worded terribly and your face is probably shaped weird. Like...a rhombus or something.

How many seasons probably depends on exactly how big of a troll job killing rob was. If they see viewership in S4 dip back into S2 numbers you can assume that book readers are remaining loyal, but you lost the non-book viewers.

If that happens you can probably expect 5. If there's not much of a dip or if viewership remains steady, I assume you can expect 7-8. And even if you loveomgomgloveloveomglove GoT -- you won't want more than 8. You think you do, but when you hit S7 and they're STILL introducing new characters (that's not a spoiler, that's GRRM's sprawl) you'll be ready for it to just end already.

Viewers are customers, the Red Wedding is a risk. You can see how it influenced them with the Dany Slave-surfing scene. They were -trying- to overpower the memory and leave the audience with a "yey" rather than a "eeeh". I like Dany and I like her story, but that scene was over the top pandering. It's obvious they were trying and trying too hard.

I always imagine actors and their agents trying their best to get an early release of each new book and eagerly skimming it to see if their character gets knocked off / has any parts.

Here's a panel interview from March, for the start of season 3 (no spoilers). Sean Bean and Jason Momoa aren't included.

Basically only the actor who plays Jon Snow. Actresses who play Sansa and Catelyn say they skim for their characters' part.

In the behind-the-scenes thing on season 1's BD the actress who plays Arya wasn't allowed to read the books by her mom because they were too adult lol

This season finale viewership was up 30% from last year. I can almost guarantee next season's will be even higher. People want to see what ramifications come from killing the two head's of the north. People want to know what's up with the dead people walking around. People want to know what the wildlings are going to do. Will stannis win? Will Arya keep killing random dudes? Will Joffrey rule with an iron fist even moreso now? What happened to Theon? What the fuck are Bran and Jojen doing? Will Dany cross the sea and wreck shit up? Will Tyrion slap some people around some more? Will Tywin keep being a badass?

Seriously, the Red Wedding is going to be another ripple in the overall story just like Ned's death was. Robb was never the main character, and people are getting too attached again. People are going to complain that he was killed, of course. They're going to throw around empty threats, send GRRM death threats, and say they aren't going to watch the show.. but of course they will. They want to know what's going to happen!

I don't see how people can think it will last 5 seasons and that's it, when the viewership has gone up every single season. It's not like this season the numbers dipped or some shit, they went up! Such absurdity.

The Red Wedding is probably going to do more to boost this show's future viewership than anything else so far. There is so much buzz around after that episode that it's pretty nuts. On Rich Eisen's NFL.com podcast yesterday they had Aaron Rodgers call in and all they did was talk Game of Thrones for 30 minutes. After all the new people get caught up on season 1-3 this offseason I expect a pretty big increase in the viewership for season 4.

So of all the talk with how untouchable characters can be killed in this series is there anyone who thinks that Jon, Arya, Sansa or Daenarys will be killed and stay dead before the finale of the book series?

I see Arya being punished if she doesn't embrace the training and holds on to her previous issues.

Punished in ways that make her a tougher cooler and smarter character? Yeah that's likely. Maybe she'll lose an eye or a finger or get raped or something over the top. But killed? Nah there's no way.
