late reply on this topic (not really this quote but all the other "omg i hate the sansa changes, she's supposed to be safe in the vale!") , also drunk posting btw.The change to Sansa is much better IMO. Before she was in a sterile environment with LF making moves in a place no one gives a shit about (The Vale). Now she's in a hostile environment in a place that everyone cares about (Winterfell). Matching one of the most cared for characters with one of the most sadistic characters who happens to be very entertaining is great.
Yeah granted she's probably in the vale still by this point of her story line, but they finished all of her book chapterslast season. She's well beyond the point she was in the books so there's no way to know/compare her current storyline in the TV show to the unknown storyline from Winds of Winter so all the crying about this shit is dumb.
Yes they could of just given her + LF a season off like they did Bran, exceptunlikebran, LF is one of the show's most popular and interesting characters.
also minor nitpick, when the fuck did Sansa become this "fan favorite?" that she has magically started being described as in the all the radfem media articles since that scene 2 episodes ago? She's been pretty much universally hated by the majority of book readers and tv viewers regardless of beliefs or political affiliations. Hell even a year or so ago there was this 1 meager little feminist voice came out to defend sansa and the show, that it was acceptable for a show with such a wide range of female characters to have at least 1 "damsel in distress" stereotypical feminine presence, and she was basically devoured by the radfem fandom and called a "literal nazi" for defending sansa. They, along with everyone else, hated sansa until 2 weeks ago when it was convenient to not hate her.
So yeah, they opted to give her the merged role of Jeyne poole to keep her employed this season, but it's also rather likely it's setting up what she's going to be doing in Winds as well. What do we know about Sansa from winds?
LF is using her as a pawn, marrying her off to the apparent heir of a kingdom (the vale) - TV show; Check
LF is doing this as a play to take the north - TV show; Check
GRRM has described writing a sansa chapter in winds with a "difficult" sex scene (everyone assumed this was with petyr baelish, but never confirmed) - TV show; Check
Elio Garcia (asoiaf wiki guy, grrm's fact checker) has mentioned reading a Sansha chapter from winds that would be considered "controversial" - TV show; Check
The preview chapter from Winds released by GRRM on his site informs us that the heir apparent she's set to marry isn't some prince charming but is rather a giant douchebag - TV show; Check
so yeah, he's not the bastard of bolton or anything, but who knows how that wedding night plays out. Saying she's safe in the vale is a fallacy. We have no idea what she's doing right now in her storyline, if she's safe, if she's even still in the vale, if she's some darth sansa master manipulator, or if she's still the uninitiated liar in training that we left her as, in for a crash course in female power or the lack their of in medieval society, because the book isn't out yet.
