That's actually another reason to for them to want to remain as much in control of their "trade" as possible. To prevent the wrong people from being killed in such a way as to invoke a reprisal against themselves. Remember Jaqen refused to kill Tywin for Arya on the show.

In the books the current storyline for the FM is Jaqen infiltrating the Citadel for reasons. I think the maesters are trying to wipe out magic and/or dragons and the FM have a vested interest in it sticking around, what with the face trick and all.

Well he probably would have refused to kill Joffrey and Cersei too then, which answers the question of why Arya didn't just end the war right there.

I dont remember her ever asking him to kill Tywin. Ok just found it, she asks him to hill Tywin right then when tywin left Harrenhal and he said he couldnt kill him before the battle but implies. He would have killed him later

Hmm, he's not exactly refusing, he's being vague. Like, maybe he would have killed Tywin if Tywin had still been at Harrenhal, but killing Tywin while he was out marching with his army wasn't something he was presently capable of. His whole 'i can kill anyone' air of bravado could have just been because he wasn't expecting Arya to name Tywin.

He's been posing as a Lannister guard the entire time they were at Harrenhal. Doing the same in Tywin's camp shouldn't have been an issue.

Tywin was no where near harrenhal and Arya asked for him to be killed right then and he said its not possible. He cant fucking teleport

It wasn't like the second named guy, where there was actual urgency. She said he was marching against her brother, so he could have taken the time he needed. If he was inclined to kill Tywin he could have pointed this out, particularly after she followed up Tywin with his own name.

either in the books or show arya asks him to kill joff and tywin and he doesnt refuse, he just gives a long explanation about how it takes time to prepare the right circumstances for their deaths. arya needed to give names now because she was in a bad spot and needed to get out and i think jaqen was trying to get her to give her choices for easy kills because he had to get on with his mission to iron islands/oldtown.


unrelated with this conversation, but did they ever have another scene with that asian red priest that looked at tyrion as he walked away? that actress was rila fukushima and its odd they only had her come in for that 20 second scene. possible season 6 plotline?

All he said was he couldnt kill Tywin before his battle with robb because he was too far away at the time, He would have killed Tywin, not sure why this is hard so understand. He says name anyone any they will die he just cant teleport across the country and kill them in 5 minutes

Arya - How long after I give the name does it take you to kill someone

Jaqen - A minute, an hour, a month. Death is certain, time is not

Aryan - He's taken his army to attack my brother, I need him killed right now

Jaqen - This a man cannot do

No she never showed up again and yeah it is really weird they got that actress to show up for 20 seconds. Maybe she meets up with dany next season but isnt that really far away from her? then again Tyrion and Jorah got to Mereen in what seemed like a couple days

You must not be able to just hire them for any reason or Tywin would have just gone to Bravos and said "Here's a bucket of gold, please kill all the Starks and Baratheons." and boom, war over.
