Sansa was never a strong female character. Anyone who thinks she was is just fooling themselves. She's a lamb living in a world of wolves.
Nobody thinks she was. Everyone hopes she will be. Daenarys wasn't strong either until she emerged from her fire. Everyone wants to see Sansa emerge from a fire and be a combination of her father, Catelyn and Littlefinger.

This would put her back among equals with the other key protagonists of the series, Jon, Arya, Daenarys and Tyrion as generally having some ability and control over their situation.

Tyrion talked his way out of having his throat slit and his cock lopped off. Still lolling about that.

Also the title of the episode is was Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken. Sansa was bowed, bent and broken, all of the above. Really twisted when you think about it.

It could have been so much worse. He didn't make Reek go down on her first. I would have loved to see the butthurt over that.

Daenarys was waking up to her power very quickly though, especially in the show. Remember how she stopped the khalasar and made Viserys walk? She found her balls right quick.

i do find it rather amusing that people consider dany a strong female character, when all her power and decisions come from male dragons and male advisors. when no men were around she asks the maid for advice and she wisely shrugs her shoulders and says something like, "marry a powerful local man so he calls off those other bad men!"

Having Reek go down and then including the dog would've been... I dunno, unbelievable and stupid. It would've just broke the scene and the dog would've just taken the whole focus for her storyline.

I think Sansa will be dead next season with her head on a pike, and Little Finger laughing in the background.

Ehh it was the only fight scene where I noticed a few sword swings that looked less than enthusiastic- ya know like the dude in the background of braveheart LARPing away... I don't know if it was because of how it was filmed- as we had a decent wide shot of a confined space with 5 combatants and we could actually SEE what they where doing... not so good female stunt actors? or what- I don't know.
That was truly the goofiest scene in all of Game of Thrones. Looked like a bunch of nerds sword fighting at some comic book convention.

Only thing that saved that whole scene was Bronn's sarcastic jokes.

Dani really is the polar opposite of Sansa on the strong women scale. She was a bargaining chip in the schemes of others much like Sansa has been the entire time. She leveraged her status for all it was worth and came out of it as one of the key players in the entire game. Sansa would recoil at the thought of eating a poorly cooked horse steak, much less a raw horse heart.

She's a ruler in a male dominated world. All rulers have advisors. She hasn't always heeded their advice on her rise to power. As for her dragons, other than being able to breed more of them, does it really matter whether or not there is a set of dragon balls at the other end of a cone of fiery death?

Reek's redemption comes when he kills Ramsay and saves Sansa. Ramsay should not turn his back to him. You could see it in Reek's eyes, the hatred, but that sliver of doubt still there after all the brainwashing. but it will snap at some point. His turning point was when he once again had to say he was Theon Greyjoy, After all the brainwashing that he is only Reek, he gets reminded of his past an awful lot. He will deliver Sansa to Stannis eventually. So i think Sansa in winterfell isn't so much about Sansa...it's about Theon, which i am pretty fucking sure, is something LF does not know.

I saw the argument made that the title refers to Theon. He gets no punishment for not holding Sansa's arm, uses his own name in front of many people, and is seen to be distraught at Sansa getting raped. He's not completely turned into Reek and might snap back.

I think Sansa's fully turned into Darth Sansa. Changed her hair back to normal and pretended to hesitate at the wedding to not make anyone suspicious. She knew she might have to sleep with Ramsay (remember the scene last season where she was awake in bed listening to Littlefinger and Aunt Crazy have sex), probably got more rapey than she thought though. I think we'll see her try to drive a wedge between Ramsay and Miranda as a way of getting more control over Ramsay, maybe even appeal to his cruel side in some way. Don't see Miranda making it to S6 alive in any case.

Why is this rape? All he did was help massage the knot in her back after he helped remove that torturous dress. Everyone could hear her moan from the relief.

Ramsay ripped the back of her dress the same way Meryn Fucking Trant ripped her dress in the throne room. They will both die this season; you know how hard that shit is to tailor?

Beginning of the next episode it just shows Ramsay struggling to pull off her dress while they both grunt in frustration.

Then the on dismembers him.

Looks like she might be waddling bowlegged out of winterfell this season. I suppose it was a little much to expect Frey Pies so soon.

Never use the phrase "massage the knot" in reference to a guy known for letting his dog fuck his wife on their wedding night.

It's like people are cheering for GRRM to finally give in to a trope instead of dashing our dreams at every turn.

That scene is only controversial because we know what a inhuman monster Ramsay is. If Tyrion had bent her over on there wedding night and done same thing minus having Bronn in the room no one would have said anything.

It didn't help that the whole "dress up in the enemy's clothes and infiltrate their base" thing is like the tropiest trope in the history of tropes.
