There is a difference between not including all the things in the books and making shit up. What's more, some of the shit that got made up deletes awesome narratives from the book, making them impossible to exist. I think that is the thing that pisses me off most.

The best example is Jamie and his adventure in Dorne. Fine, you need Jamie out of Kings Landing. Fine, you need the Dorne narrative because Dorne declaring for Danny will play an important part in the yet to be released books (speculation). And you cant put more characters in the show. I get that. But why the fuck send Jamie to Dorne ? Make Kevan tell the small council that Jamie is in the Riverlands making a hell of a job pacifying the shit out of them, maybe include that "and then he told Lord Edmure that if he doesn't surrender the castle after being released, he will have his pregnant wife sent to him by a catapult" awesome line. And make the Dornish narrative without Jamie. There, they had their cake and ate it too.

And dont get me started on the Barristan narrative. Why have him die there ? Make him die in the Yunkish siege, protecting Dannys legacy.

Well lets see how barristan gets handled because writing was shite for a while. Maybe D&D said fuck that and got it out of the way

Well we know about 8000 years ago the White Walkers tried to destroy all of Westeros and possibly other areas of the world so this wouldn't be the first time. We know that Craster sacrificed male babies to them, we don't know what that means.
We know exactly what it means... they turned the baby into more White Walkers... kept in isolation, they would have remained low in numbers/defeated... but he gave them an "army" of recruits.

Daenerys goes apeshit, takes Kings Landing. Jon dies, comes back to life and rallies Stannis' men, the wildlings and the Nights Watch to defeat the white walkers. Bran wargs into an ancient Ice Dragon and their army marches on KL. Arya kills Cersei and pretty much everyone else important in KL. LF wins at the end. He marries Sansa and unites the kingdoms, all the viewers lose their shit, the end.
I think something like this is very possible.

What if, just as a hypothetical, they were to make another deviation from the books and have Varys return to KL and assassinate Kevan/Tommen instead of Kevan/Pycelle, in an attempt to sow as much discord as possible in advance of Dany crossing the Narrow Sea?

Killing Tommen risks rolling the dice and having a decent king take his place. Not worth it IMO.

Littlefinger winning at the end would make meso happy.

I really don't think Daddy Bolton is gonna die. Baby Bolton might or might not, but I do suspect Daddy Bolton is safe.

For one thing he looks too much like Putin. For another he's just plain willing to play ball. Daddy Bolton is an asset as long as you can enforce your demands. He's got a really ruthless pragmatism in the show. And sure, a bit of a mean streak, but so what about that second bit.

You're not realizing that the reason he has to do this is because all of Westeros has no idea the Others even exist. If Dany's arc instantly has them all bend the knee that that will just be fucking stupid. Seriously.
I wasn't saying that Dany lands and says "I'm back !!!" and everyone goes "Oh shit, Mom's home." /bow

She'd have to score some early victories in the field (she's coming in after a lot of fighting has already weakened most of the key players). She'd have to engage in some politics (queue Tyrion). Word of the Walkers and their army would have come down out of the North and is spreading through the other kingdoms. At that point she could get the rest of the war weary kingdoms to yield and rally behind her for the defense of everyone.

Even if Stannis could rally the North behind him by restoring House Stark as Warden, they were on the loosing end of Robb's campaign and he has to deplete more of his own forces in the process. He wouldn't be as well positioned to unify the Seven Kingdoms under his leadership as fast and efficiently as Danyshouldbe.

I feel like my thoughts on Daenerys' return have been the same for years: It's so far out we can't say what happens. I think we've got another season/book to get through before she comes back and there's no telling what will happen before then. It's possible she spends the next season uniting the free men of Bravos and uses a Lorathi navy. Or maybe she has to fight/join Sothoryos in some way.

You can look to specific characters and say whether Roose will make it through the next book or two, but the details of what happens in the campaign? Very tenuous to predict.

But it would essentially create a 3 way struggle for the throne between the major players. The Tyrells trying to press Margery's claim, Dorne trying to enforce the promise of Myrcella to Trystane, and Cersei telling everyone to piss off, it's her last child and only she can protect her and tries to rule herself, not letting Myrcella marry anyone immediately.

And Jon now basically has a force of Wildings who are strongly in his debt.
If things play out they way I think they will... Jon will have the Wildings, Winterfel, the Northern Armies, Stannis Army, possibly the Nights Watch (What purpose do they serve now if there are no wildings other than to fight the Others?) and a Giant Wolf with Bran, Hodor 2 more Direwolves and Treeboy coming later. And Arya and Her Wolf too.

Im looking forward to seeing 4 Direwolves wreaking shop.

Question is does he turn the armies North or South first?

Yeah, it's possible. I just don't think it's the right move. We'll see.

So you think Jon Snow will reconvene with Stannis battered, broken, freezing army, rally up the wildlings and go take winterfell. Then after that he will magically think he has a right to the throne and decide to go for it and Stannis' army is just going to change allegiance and follow him to King's Landing while he ignores the white walkers, whom he's seen and fought already, just to sit on some shitty spikey chair?

Well then...

An almost grown Drogon, 2 adolescent dragons, a kalasar, unsullied, tyrion, varys... Dany is by far the strongest player. I really don't see anyone gaining enough power to outright oppose her when she lands.

So9 next season should see dany taking a kalasar, or reuniting with the mereen factions, depending on pace.

The other targ (forget his name) or the greyjoys should still be in play.

The finale will be interesting just to see how the next season is setup.

Please don't theorize in the non-spoiler thread based on information you didn't get from the show.
