An almost grown Drogon, 2 adolescent dragons, a kalasar, unsullied, tyrion, varys... Dany is by far the strongest player. I really don't see anyone gaining enough power to outright oppose her when she lands.

So9 next season should see dany taking a kalasar, or reuniting with the mereen factions, depending on pace.

The other targ (forget his name) or the greyjoys should still be in play.

The finale will be interesting just to see how the next season is setup.
The dragons are all adolescent - they are the same age... but the red one was able to "fly free" and whatnot while the other two (punished for the free ones actions) have been chained up in a basement... I don't see Dany forgetting those two as they are all her children... but I haven't read the book so I don't know if she goes back to snag them.

Also the re-casting of Daario between seasons 3 and 4 was really jarring. The original Daario had that effeminate but still very masculine look that you could totally believe Daenerys swooning over, the new guy, while certainly not ugly, seems like just another dude with a beard.

I'm sure that re-casting was already discussed to death though.
I think the new guy is a better actor. I thought he was great in Treme and didn't think he'd have too much trouble with the role. I do agree though that purely aesthetically the original guy fit the mystique of the character more, even if he didn't match whatsoever the Daario from the book. The guy playing him now just looks too normal.

All I remember is you guys whining that Faabio didn't have blue dreadlocks or something.

For a non book reader, the new guy is a lot less faggy and a little more ruggedly metro. So there's that, at least.

The new guy is a little bland, the old guy looked weird. Like he had a lot of plastic surgery.

The new guy does better with the clever dialogue, the old guy had the more exotic look that fit more of what I pictured for Daario...minus the blue hair.

Yeah I think he just seems out of place in the role of a character like Daario. I've only seen him in GoT and Orphan Black, but he doesn't seem to have a lot of range. He's turned Daario into the good guy boyfriend type. Not exactly how I would have envisioned Mr. Titty Daggers.

All three dragons are eventually freed. Drogon is more developed, hence the Will be almost mature (I would think by the end of next season he will start plateau'ing in size, so nearly mature at that point). While the other two will be stunted

Not sure why you made that the reference point for your reply. It is known drogon will be the largest (unless he dies?)

True, he is always described as the biggest, most aggressive and has been out and about - hes got the street smartz yo while his 2 siblings are just home schooled.

So you think Jon Snow will reconvene with Stannis battered, broken, freezing army, rally up the wildlings and go take winterfell. Then after that he will magically think he has a right to the throne and decide to go for it and Stannis' army is just going to change allegiance and follow him to King's Landing while he ignores the white walkers, whom he's seen and fought already, just to sit on some shitty spikey chair?

Well then...
you need to keep in mind who stannis's men are, they are mercs provided via the bank of braavos, before that it was just a handful of men because blackwater bay utterly destroyed stannis. if the banker at BoB were to roll up at the wall and talk to jon and then go with him to stannis and say, "ok guys i have repositioned you to follow this man in the black cloak." there isnt shit stannis could do about it.

i dunno if tommen is gonna die this week, but if he does, its gonna be crazy and probably super left field, especially since he had no influence over the goings on at KL so nobody would notice any difference.

I think Stannis army would join Jon. The hardcore are going to go wherever Melisandre goes. What are the rest going to do? Take an Uber 6,000 miles home?

I think Jon may turn South first to unite the Kingdom. Longshot I know. But if the Wall falls (what an epic scene that would be) where do they make a stand? The Neck?

As ex gladiators maybe they were just trained to fight for entertainment not efficiency. They were trying to win the crowd!

I just want them out of their hole. I dunno about you guys but that was the saddest part of the show for me. Them dragons are cute.

Me too. It really was the worst sort of action scene. They might as well of had them throw in taunts as they stood around. "WE GONNA GET YOU, YOU'LL SEE. THE HARPIES ALWAYS WIN!"

It'd be like the fucking diablo3 story line or something.

If I had done that scene, there would have been people running everywhere, dany would be lost in the chaos, and some screaming harpies would be chasing while soldiers tried to get to her, both cutting through random people. Then drogon would just come in and squash the fuck out of someone and toast a bunch of random shitlords incredibly suddenly and leave just as suddenly with danys and a bunch of spears.

Directing battle scenes/sequences seems to be it's own little niche. An otherwise good director may not necessarily be good at it.

7 seasons of TV with good story/dramatic scenes but average at best action vs 7 movies with hardly any time for a decent plot/drama but lots of action scenes. Maybe they'll jack up the budget and hire some expert choreographers in S6/7 but that isn't the focus in the TV format.

Yeah Dany the Dragon Whisperer ruined that scene. It should've been directed like it was in the books where she was trapped and panicked and jumped on Drogon pretty much out of desperation.
