Wouldn't be much of a show if they killed off damn near the entire cast. Seems a bit much even for GRRM.

It's just a gimmick to get you wondering who all is going to die. And Bronn? That looks like Jaime, who labeled that shit.

I agree, looks more like Jaime, which would basically make it just about the six most important characters left in the story dead? Not gonna happen. Even if GRRM was nihilistic enough to write that, no way would the show writers be willing to unequivocally alienate their entire fan base.

Except the plot in the books gives House Martell a chance at taking control of Westeros from House Lannister through Myrcella and Trystane, or at least muscling in on Lannister control even if they can't out them completely until the next generation. But the son of Queen Myrcella Baratheon and Prince-Consort Trystane Martell would end up king, which seems like exactly the kind of long game Doran is gunning for in the books.

With this new story, the first Dorne scene we get in the upcoming season is probably going to be Ellaria's execution, maybe even a mass execution of all the sand snakes if Doran judges that they conspired with Ellaria. At which point he will still have peace with House Lannister, but thanks to Ellaria's stupidity, the only significance House Martell has in Westeros is the fact that their army did not participate in the War of the Five Kings. Which, granted, is pretty significant, but nowhere near as significant as Doran's grandson one day sitting on the Iron Throne.
wut.

The plot in the books is to marry quentyn to Dany which means his son will be king. He sends his daughter and the various sand snakes to kings landing expecting a goddamn army and dragons to land and sack kings landing. basically he puts their lives on the line assuming his plan works.

His plan fails of course because both of his children fuck up their assigned tasks.

You're absolutely right, I got turned around there. I think what I meant to say was 'I assume his plan in the show was to put his future grandson on the Iron Throne'

now i'm confused. I was originally agreeing with you that TV Doran doesn't have a plan.

Now you say he does, but it's kinda a dumb plan. The laws of Dorne don't apply to the rest of the kingdoms (This is arianne's plan in the books, to press the daughter's claim as a surrogate for her own perceived alienation), so while Myrcella would be 2nd in line behind Joffrey and rightful Queen under dornish law, she's still 3rd behind Tommen and Stannis in king's landing. Which means this plan to get his grandson on the throne requires both Tommen and Stannis to die before producing any children, especially not any male heirs. And it's not like Doran is going to live long enough to see it through. So it makes more sense that his plan is to get his Son on the throne, which in the TV show is Trystane via marriage to Myrcella and assassination of stannis and tommen. That or, as I thought you were initially saying and I agree with, he really just doesn't have a plan and just wants peace.

Ellaria murdering Myrcella ruins either option. Unless of course they decide to hot route back to the original book plan, he whips out the targaryan marriage contract and myrcella has to die so he can send his son Trystane to off to marry Dany. But i don't think that's what they're gonna do.

you know that youtube has it's own bookmark feature, right astro? You keep posting those videos to remind yourself to watch them later but we kept telling you you are the only person who regularly posts here who hasn't read the books and benefits from them.

Does this mean they are all going to die?
Well this could be one way to get out of season 8 cast costs!

I always assumed that all of the plans required Tommen to die either way, and it wouldn't require Stannis to die, just that nobody back his claim, which nobody would have. And when I'm talking about his grandson, that's because Trystane wouldn't be king if Myrcella's claim to the Iron Throne had been pressed, she would be a Queen Regnant and he would be a Prince Consort. Only their son (Doran's Grandson) could actually be King in his own right.

I'm actually really interested to see how this whole story concludes. If they kill off all the main characters, it will be anticlimactic. If everyone joins together to fight the White Walkers, it would be really lame. I Feel like GRRM painted himself into a corner with the whole story arc, and I'm interested to see how he writes himself out of it.

Dragons vs White Walkers. Nobody else matters.

Maybe the Bran arc goes nowhere, but we know Dany is coming to Westeros with her dragons. The wall will probably fall at some point. The Starks will eat shit due to being in close proximity to the wall. The children of the forest will have their magic amplified by the presence of dragons. Children of the forest + starks + dragons = WW battle that the children of the forest end up winning. Perhaps the wildlings (First Men?) take back some of the territory and the kingdom ends up divided.

Either way, it's going to be kind of gay. Up to now it's been a political/military intrigue and it's going to culminate in some supernatural showdown with fireball-throwing children, dragons, and white walkers nobody is prepared to fight.

If I were going to make a ridiculously specific prediction, I'd say it's confirmed that Jon is a Targaryen, he ends up marrying Daenerys and between the two of them and maybe the children of the forest they defeat the white walkers. Jon gives land in the north to the wildlings under the condition that they answer to House Stark, ruled by Sansa who finally stops being such a retarded cunt, and Tyrion because hey they are married. Part of ceasing to be such a retarded cunt is that Sansa finally realizes that Tyrion is actually a just and honorable man, and of all the characters in the series he's the one I want to get a happy ending more than any other. Dorne allies with Daenerys to finally avenge themselves on House Lannister in exchange for primacy among the other houses in the new government.

And so it's not all happy ending fanfic rainbows and sunshine, Arya dies, but at least she dies killing someone important.
