It gets better with practice. I think I had 12 retries on the first race, but the last few retries I was consistently outracing them by a ton until I fucked up because I was getting complacent.

Use Franklin, and use his special power in hairpin turns. You can go full speed through them and gain boatloads of distance on opponents. Most importantly: His special power can be toggled off! Took me like 5 races before I realized that. You can use it many times per race if you do that. I really wish his power had an easier hotkey though, pressing both sticks is a bit slow for emergency evasion maneuvers. A couple of times I managed to just press one of the sticks and got reverse cam instead...

Don't try to handbrake drift in the races. While fun, it's too risky. Play it like a serious racing game, breaking before corners and accelerating through.

I've tried logging into iFruit around 60 times in the last 12 hours. It has worked exactly once. I'm assuming their servers are being fried.

Since i mainly want the online portion, do i HAVE to buy GTA 5 to get online? Curious if their will be a stand alone option to buy or not.

Love the game so far, but does anyone else think that GTA5 has the worst radio stations out of all the GTAs since 3? I can't find a single station that I can stand to listen to for any length of time, they all blow.

Anyone else getting frame rate slowdown / lag while driving? I was also having some texture pop-in issues but that seems to have resolved itself.

As a PC gamer, I didn't buy my PS3 until Last of Us and I still can't get over how bad these console games look. It's criminal that all these great games are wasted on console when they could be 10x better on PC.

Does the silencer actually do anything? I bought it on the first pistol you get, just because i figured it might avoid attracting attention but i'm not convinced lol

The Hip Hop station is great. Got Dr Dre Kendrick The Game to name a few. I just leave it on that. I'm pretty disappointed with the lack of depth in the car customization. I thought they'd go pretty deep with that as the racing adds a lot of replay-ability. I've got a feeling Rockstar are going to be pretty quick with adding content though. I'm thinking they are going to really try to push GTA online as an MMO and add in a cash shop down the line.

I used to listen to the talk radio stations all the time while playing the earlier GTA games. I think that's what got me into audiobooks
