I just came back from Gamestop with a copy of this. It's official - this will win over Far Cry 4 and most definitely DA:I - which I will play through when the price drops to 19 bucks for both. This game however, deserves a double dip and this is also what some folks within development should take notes on if planning a definitive edition. (Makes me wonder if they can do the same for red dead redemption.) 1st Party (That sex thing is hilarious. I forgot all about what that may look like) with what looks to be gorgeous graphics. It probably helps I think I only made it through about 40% of GTA 5 on my 360, so I am excited to go back. Also playing entirely through first person.
I have heard it can be a little jarring at first, so the best thing to do is to monkey with your FOV and just roam around the world for a while, while getting used to it.

I am totally blown away by this game. Holy shit was it worth the wait!
The amount of details in the gameworld are unreal, there is so much to explore and to do. The graphic fidelity is sick, some stuff looks damn near real, like the water environments: waves, shallow water and underwater all look superb. The streets, buildings, back alleys, everything seems handcrafted. I can just walk around look at stuff like a tourist and not be bored at all. The mountain in the distance? You can actually drive there and climb the damn thing, maybe get eaten by a mountain lion while doing so (much like in RDR).
And yeah Bungie, thats how you do voice acting: all the different characters and random people have personality thanks to the over the top voice acting and diversity of expressions. Thanks to all that, the game world comes alive.
All the havoc you can cause... the randomness can be hilarious: For example, by mistake i drove into a field where some mexican farmers were planting corn or whatever and they got really pissed off because i was ruining their work. They ran after me with pitchforks yelling while i drove in circles around them and the mud was splattering all over the place. Admittedly very retarded but funny as hell situation. Or you can just stand at a random intersection and waiting for stuff to happen, like a police shootout vs a taco truck driver. The hilarity of paramedics who leave the bodies "i'm gonna be sick" and drive over more random victims. Everything is entertaining as fuck.

I am sure they did the whole 1st person thing in advance for VR. Morpheus or Oculus can't release soon enough.

Was only able to play about 40 minutes last night, but so far it is absolutely awesome. Albeit, I am still trying to get used to first person in this game. I keep moving back to 3rd person for some reason. I think I just need to get used to it.

It is absolutely awesome. Finally was able to play more, for about an hour or two last night, and made it to Michael and a few missions passed that. I never really liked playing Franklin's missions. As soon as Michael pops up, I am all gung ho until I am forced into the Franklin missions. Graphics and very impressive, although I am seeing how they are doing some of it. It seems the field of view is a bit blurry to the right and left of what you are looking at, or when you move, and it takes a brief second to load into HD for the far views. Still, not that distracting though. PC players are going to love this when they can really pack it in.

Amazing Eh? When a great game comes out where are all aren't nickle and dimed to death with a reputable company that shits out an enormous amount of content for $59.99, and it is fun, and responsive, to play - and isn't just an HD texture repack cash, but with an entirely new way to play, new content, new easter eggs, new soundtracks, ... I could go on and on about how awesome it would be if every company acted like Rockstar did.
I even pimped out Michael's wife's car. Complete with neon lights all around the thing. It's hilarious. This weekend my wife works, (Night nurse) so I am going to be slamming down some Surly Furious down and playing GTA 5.
