I own one piece of Le Creuset. I got it with a coupon, during a sale, at their factory outlet. Was like 80% off and I still questioned whether it was strictly worth it. Five years in though and I'm pretty happy with it.I was in a La Creuset outlet store today. The roasting pans were on sale for 599$. I looked at the sales person, and told her to fuck herself.
No, but seriously, that shit is so overpriced. It's amazing.
Looking at there site I don't see any for that price? Was it a set or something? Went looking to see what a $500 roasting pan looks like. I have a dutch oven that was $150 30 or so years ago, still looks brand new.I was in a La Creuset outlet store today. The roasting pans were on sale for 599$. Sounds like it could hurt it without being carefulLe Creuset cast iron cookware can be used on all heat sources including gas, electric solid plate or radiant ring, vitro-ceramic glass, induction, and ovens fired by gas, oil, coal or wood. When using any glass-topped stove, always lift the pan when moving it; never slide it, as this may damage the stovetop or the base of the pan. - See more at:Care-and-Use | Le Creuset
I meant to type Dutch Oven, but I typed roasting pan because I'm an idiot. the roasters there were all around 200-300. They seemed to have more expensive things in this outlet than they do on their site.Looking at there site I don't see any for that price? Was it a set or something? But the less you use it the longer it will look brand new. I don't think you can afford NOT to buy one.I've had a Lodge 12 inch skillet for about 5 years now, I rock and roll with that damn thing, love it. I am considering a dutch oven but I am not sure how often I would use it.
Clearly price is an indicator of effectiveness/quality!It's interesting how there is a product for every budget level. If you want to spend $6, $60, $600, $6000, or $60,000 on a watch you can, and the six dollar one is probably more accurate than the $60K one. I heard an interview with some hollywood star that was talking about his wife who was a model and she was buying some sort of face cream and he offered to buy it for her and then found out it was like $1200 for a 3 oz jar. I'm sure it's very questionable whether that stuff actually does anything that the mega-jug of ponds cold cream at Costco doesn't (and even that is probably overpriced for what it is), but if you've got the money, somebody will help you spend it.
hell yea this looks like a mans dutch ovenI've always been pretty happy with Lodge stuff. Their regular cast iron is also made in USA which is a plus in my book but unfortunately their enameled stuff is not, they outsource that to China.
But I fail to see what the Le Creuset enameled dutch oven does that my Lodge won't other than giving all my wife's friends lady-boners.
