No where did I say exactly, but if it's supposed to remind me of gingerbread then usually I'd rather just have gingerbread because those things are always a letdown to me.

However Deathwing's explanation alleviates those reservations for the most part. I may try this on my next fat day just to see if it's any good. What do you recommend using it with Deathwing?

A couple tablespoons goes really well with a cup of greek yogurt. Might need a tad more sweetness if you buy the plain greek yogurt.

I've been putting it on toasted sesame seed bagels, only because that's what I have atm. I imagine cinnamon raisin bagels would work better.

Pancakes are good too. Just make sure to heat up the speculoos first like you would nutella. Otherwise it will destroy the pancakes.

Pick up one of these next time you're at the convenience store or walmart or something:

Pretty tasty stuff, although I don't hold Nutella in such high esteem as most people do.

I'd love to try it, but I've been fat for a really long time and I've been doing really well with reversing that damage. The last thing I need is getting addicted to something delicious. I was only going to try the stuff Deathwing mentioned because a friend of mine is obsessed with Trader Joes and I was going to make him buy it so I could sample it.

Still need some fat while losing weight. If you've seen my posts in the weight loss thread, I basically follow the macros diet, which is pretty loose on what you can eat. Our culture has erroneously linked eating fat will make you a fat person. Thus, even though I eat pretty carefree, fat is probably the most consistent macro that I come up a bit short on.

It can be helpful to have a couple food items that are almost purely one macro so by the end of the day, you can shore up whichever category that you're lacking. Carbs are almost never a problem(linked to the aforementioned fat problem), but if needed, keep a bag of jelly beans around. Makes it really easy to parcel out how much you need too, calorie wise. I keep low fat cheese sticks for protein. A protein shake would work too, I just don't like the prices on those types of supplements. And for fat, nutella would work. Speculoos is actually better in that regard because it's a higher percentage of fat per serving than nutella.

2 pieces of toast with Nutella is a very quick and delicious breakfast. My wife got addicted to the stuff while pregnant so I've basically eaten it with everything.

depending on how much Nutella, it could be "healthier" than butter... depending on how much butter you put on it?

Actually i have no fucking clue. I just know I don't eat the stuff with a spoon and it tastes good and I'm not getting fat because of it.

I haven't. But I read enough reviews that it at least sparked some interest in getting one.

That cookie butter is delicious!

Here's an amazing soup recipe that I cooked up a couple of nights ago and have been enjoying ever since:

Has anyone had turkey cooked with this?

Amazon.com : Char-Broil The Big Easy TRU-Infrared Oil-less Turkey Fryer : Turkey Fry Pots : Patio, Lawn Garden

Love fried turkey but hate buying all the oil for one turkey and then having it go rancid before using again. Question is, how does a turkey cooked with this compare to a fried one?
Tastes just like fried turkey, use around a cup or so of peanut oil and coat the outside, works great. I love not having to do the massive cleanup as well. Also, if you wait until the end of the holiday season, you can usually pick one up at Lowe's for @ $65.00 like I did.

Quick chicken wing question for the thread. I have been tasked with doing chicken wings for a Halloween party this weekend. I have used the Alton Brown "steam-then-bake" method in the past and they have been a huge hit. In his video he says to refrigerate the wings for at least an hour, but would there be any harm in leaving them in the fridge longer? Like steaming them the night before and baking the next day (so like 24 hours)?

The wings will be fine as long as your fridge doesn't dip near freezing temperatures.

I would hold off on steaming them until your also ready to bake though.

That zuppa toscana ish is pretty aight. A waiter once recommended I try it with hot sauce. It's actually pretty amazing, definitely adds another interesting facet to the soup.

I would like more information on this gene, that sounds nuts. On the other hand, I will never in my life ever have any desire to eat a brussel sprout for my entire life.

My wife makes one dish pretty good. One. It's a chicken broccoli casserole thing. Basically layer the bottom with uncooked egg noodles, then broccoli and chicken. Smother that shit with cream of chicken soup then crumble a mixture of butter + ritz crackers on top. Cook it for some time that i Have no fucking clue at some temp that I don't know. Shit tastes magnificent.
