You can make ghetto beans that will probably still impress in a short time frame. Get a couple of cans of "Ranch Style" beans, and rinse them in a colander. Toss them in a pot with some diced up uncooked bacon, some onions/garlic/chilis, add whatever seasoning you want (I would say oregano/red chili flakes/garlic powder/black pepper) and then salt to taste. Heat over a low flame and if you want a thicker/pastier bean dish, add some stock of some kind (chicken stock works well for this, though pork would most definitely fit the flavor profile more) and work it in (don't mash that shit, the beans will be soft already) until it starts to bubble. Kill the heat, cap and put aside. When it gets near service time, super low flame and just stir and serve.
