the requiste character comics (i.e. starlord 01/rocket racoon 01) got released, so ppl who are hyped about the movie can have "something" to read b4 it comes out. these issues are shit btw, well it's true i haven't liked anything gotg comics wise in years (b/c honestly it's crap), just don't read these comics thinking you might get some good backstory.

I just read the RR one today and I love the art in it and the story is fun. It's not going to win any awards but I enjoyed reading it.

So I ended up going to the free 17 minute Imax preview of Guardians of the Galaxy tonight. I didn't really know what to expect. Yes, I'm a huge comic nerd, but I've never been a GotG reader. That said, the preview was fucking awesome!

It had quite a few laughs in it. The action was great, as was the plot of that scene. It takes place fairly early in the movie. Quite possibly the beginning of the film (that's what they said before it played, but it seemed to start rather abruptly). Imediately after the 17 minute preview, they went into a longer 3 minute trailer that I hadn't seen previously. I'm so hyped for this movie right now. I'm not as excited as I was prior to the first Iron Man, or even Captain America 2, but it looks great. The 3D was decent. I noticed that it was blurry in certain sections, but maybe that's because they were forcing you to focus on something in the distance as opposed to characters up front.

Opening night tickets for this one (especially after the preview). Oh, we also got a free poster. It's a retro 70's colorful thing.

Good 3D through the entire 17 minutes. I think this will be worth the 3D IMAX ticket. I still would have preferred the Marvel Heroes British accent Rocket but Bradley Cooper did a good job. Kinda unsure about Bautista as Drax. I guess visually the muscle works but the dialogue ehhhh. Maybe that's just how the character talks in the comics. It looks like a lot of laughs.

Well, I had to take my 2 1/2 year old daughter to the theaters. They used plasma guns and such. It wasn't much violence. She kept saying "GROOT!" as we walked out to the car, so that was fun. Her first time in a theater, and she did well.
