aaannnddd just like that we have the Guardians of the Galaxy taking over the Fantastic Four's role in 'cosmic' type adventures for the greater movie going populace. If they manage to pull this off, which I feel somewhat confident now that they will. This is by far the riskiest move in the Marvel Movieverse phase 2.

Chris Pratt, he voiced Emmett in the Lego movie and plays Andy on Parks and Rec. This is his movie year, and yeah, he's pretty funny in all his stuff. He'll make a great everyman amidst the trees/raccoons/spaceships.

Thanos appears at the end of The Avengers as the guy masterminding the whole thing, plus you have the subplot running through all the films of the Infinity Gems of which we have now seen two (the Cosmic Cube and the Aether). To flesh out more of the Cosmic side of the Marvel Universe leading up to an eventual Infinity Gauntlet crossover sequence they needed to do a Cosmic movie. Well the main go-to groups for the Cosmic in the Marvel Universe are the Fantastic Four and the Xmen neither of which Marvel/Disney can use...

So the Guardians of the Galaxy got pushed up to the majors

FF and Xmen are when cosmic invades earth.
And even THEN. Its been Avengers dealing with that lately

Going to mourn sexy helmet. think props just couldn't make it look good without being too big?

Wow. I was fairly ambivalent about this movie before the trailer. But now I'm fucking stoked. That looks fantastic.

Drax and Gamora don't look very good to me at all. It is sad that the two CGI characters, Rocket and Groot, look the best to me.

Movie looks like it could be pretty awesome though. It sort of has a Firefly vibe to it as well.

You kidding? Drax and Gamora look perfect. Gamora especially, I'm so glad they didn't go towards the antiquated ugly ass overly sexualized version of her.
Chris Pratt looks like a PERFECT fit for Peter.
I'm still so fucking salty over Richard Rider just getting the axe in absolutely everything. Fuck you Glen Clouse, fuck you Marvel you cock suckers.


With that said, I'm so god damn giddy for this movie to come out. It's going to be AAAHH MAAAAH ZIIIIIIIIING

Pickup Vol. 3, it's very well done all around. Except for issue 8, fuck the art, fuck the writer, fuck it all. Fucking douchebags talking about how Thanos and Peter came back from the Cancerverse. BUT GUESS WHAT THERE'S NO MENTION OF? YEAH RICHARD RIDER. I WONDER WHY GAMORA WOULD ASK ABOUT PETER, BUT NOT HER GOD DAMN LOVER?! Fuck the fuck off.

Well they already said the orb we see Starlord get in this is an Infinity Gem. So that makes three of the six. Doubt one will be in Captain America The Winter Soldier or Antman. I am guessing one "may" be in Avengers 2, but currently I am doubtful. Thor 3 is an obvious spot for another. If Avengers 3 is where the fight with Thanos will be, they can have the sixth show up there or have two other movies between Avengers 2 and 3 have them show up.

My hope for the Gems remaining is one for an Adam Warlock movie (easy enough since he had one) and maybe a second Guardians Movie, with again Thor 3 having one as well. Man I was upset at first when they said how long it will take to get to Thanos with the Infinity Gems but now I am thinking it may not be enough time to get all 6 gems into movies well.

I think these movies are more linked with the gems then you may think.

Rumors are not only does
Scarlett Witch and Quicksilver appear at the end of the Winter Soldier film, but so does Starlord.

That and they revealed Robert Redford is the new Red Skull.
