I can't grab the image from work but if you watch the trailer again, right near the very end you see Star-Lord on like a rock with a dust cloud or storm pushing against him and he's wearing the mask and a cape so you can be happy.

They probably went with the mask, because the entire helmet was kind of stupid. Just grew on you as you read more and saw him in it more.

that might be half the helmet, it's missing the star-lord insignia. (the yellow flame) otherwise it's just a kree helmet.

seeing bradley cooper as rocket makes me think why isn't he star lord and why isn't vin-diesel drax?

The simple reason is that Bradley Cooper had time to do voice work that they recorded for pseudo mocap, but not time to squeeze in a full feature shoot.

Vin Diesel is too small to play Drax. He's like 5'8''.

Anyway, I think Star-Lord's new look is far superior to the 50s biker costume.

This always makes me laugh when I see someone post X is too small to play Y.

Carl Weathers was damn near 5 inches taller than Sylvester Stallone, but they made them look the same height. John Rhys-Davies, who played Gimli in Lord of the Rings, is 6'1".

Vin's voice is like fucking perfect for Groot IMO. Batista's a good actor and Drax barely speaks so that's good. The casting's actually really good, no one should be bitching about that.

If I'm not mistaken he took that picture right before he was getting makeup done FOR Drax. So not sure where the difference comes from.
