The wife and I have a routine, 2 IMAX tickets when applicable, 2 icee's and a medium popcorn and the bill is almost always $55+. Shit, 70mm IMAX tickets are $44 by themselves. But honestly, who cares unless you're seeing 100 movies a year.
I used to be anti-pirating cause "support the good movies, bro!" but what's turning me now is paying $20 for the DVD, then $25 for the Blu-Ray, $50 for the Collectors Extended Uber edition (Looking at you, LotR) then the inevitable purchase for 4k movies. The shit is just out of hand.
I'd gladly pay $50 per movie to own it and never have to worry about format changes again.
