Mark Hamil also had that facial scaring car accident after the 1st Star Wars - that could have prevented him from being offered some roles

Men aren't held to the same standard as women, Danny Devito is proof of this

Sylvester Stallone started his career with a fucked up lip from a botched cleft surgery, thats also why he talks fucked up. Stallone has also never been typecast to the point he cant get certain roles, he's done physical and non physical roles for his entire career. although admittedly everyone knows him as Rocky or Rambo.

i mean ok, but in person acting he's still Luke Skywalker whenever you see him. he's not well known visually for anything else. Hamill survived on voice work. Carrie, she fucked her own career up because she was an alkie and drug addict for most of her life. meanwhile Ford was Han, Indy, Blade Runner, Fugitive and many other famous roles. i'm sure there are still old ladies who wet their Depends thinking about him. its really not a fair comparison because Bautista isnt even in Ford's league, but its just a testament that you dont have to be typecasted unless you allow yourself to be. if you allow yourself to be, then nut up or shut up.
that's... a silly argument that he's "allowed himself" to be typecast. that's not how hollywood works. you get offered very specific roles for very specific reasons. hollywood execs don't want to spend money on question marks. typecasting exists because when an exec sees you in a role that succeeds, they only put bets on a sure thing. they KNOW you can do that role so they don't take chances on much else.

his first foray into movies were bit parts without much dialogue and he did that well enough. which means that hiring directors see his resume and if the movie they are hiring for doesn't have a role like that, they don't hire him. you're saying he SHOULDN'T have tried to do well in the parts he WAS hired for?

He was hired for a specific role and gave the expected performance. That's fine, it was no surprise. he allowed himself to do it. He could also have passed and tried for something more dramatic and less physical. Realistically, he is better suited for physical roles, which is what he did. Arnold tried to be a real actor during his career. He wasn't very good at it, but he tried.

You never seen "The Ratings Game"? It's one of his best movies. His romantic counterpart is his rl wife Rhea Perlman.
Soo two irl married ugo's are the romantic leads? Also, never seen it.

Edit: Also looking it up.. it was a made for TV movie with Devito as the director. lol

It's also one of his best movies. Check it out. Lots of cameos. He also did "Other People's Money" which is a real Hollywood film and he is the romantic lead.

No, you're wrong. He never had a cleft lip. Stallone had a facial nerve severed by the Dr during his birth.

He's also able to avoid typecasting because he didn't just star in his big movies, he wrote them too

What movies did Arnold try to be a real actor?

The only one that strays from his typical roles that I can think of is Maggie and that was in 2015.

Jayne Mansfield Story. he did ok, but his accent was out of place.
Around The World in 80 days, he looked insane.
Stay Hungry was a film where he plays a bodybuilder but its not an action film.
Junior? i have no memory of that movie anymore.

Whenever Arnold tried to get out of his comfort zone, this was typically the result:

For the record, I do like Jingle All the Way
