I don't get the obsession with MMOs offering timesinks that take months to accomplish, if I had to slog through 3 months of bullshit just to get to what you whiners call "fun", I'd quit in a heartbeat. The fact that this is probably the first MMO in ages that actively encourages exploration and emergent gameplay. Taking a page out of LoL's book so you are looking for cool looking gear, not +1 gear is also a way to make this genre move forward, away from +gooderer. There's still advantage in having access to wide variety of gear so you can adapt to situations, just like having every skill unlocked, what you level with is rarely ideal and there's noticeable difference between rare and exotic. They also have art team that blows the rest of the market out of the water, with lategame zones looking absolutely gorgeous.
Dungeons are more varied than anything WoW offered lately, with several encounters being outsmarted by the community, though some others are rather boring, where you end up dodging a single spell and hammering your dps button for 5 minutes. I agree on the combat being a bit plain, but it also feels as fluid and responsive as WoW, which is no small feat. The combo system could be enhanced a bit to promote class synergies, but I think it's good enough.
They also have no subscription, which let's you try it again if a patch catches your eye, so I see no reason to give away your account, because the game is bound to get better.
In the words of wide Hatorade "I've played the shit out of that game, it was crap"
