Really digging this expansion, I like how the mounts are integral to certain things. However, I'm stuck. I have 2 mastery points and I've been trying to find a 3rd for a few hours now to unlock the next mount. All I have found seem to require the next mount, is there something I'm missing?

There's enough Mastery points in the first zone to reach rank 3 in the Raptor, that said there are a few...I think 2 or 3 that requires the other mounts.

There's one underwater west of the city in case you missed that one.

The one underwater next to Amoon, the cooking one, then the one NE of Amoon where you play simon says and the one you find on the aMoon rooftops. Last one I got was from doing all 4 hearts and feeding my raport the treats and doing the supply run to the temple of kormir. Then you need to kill one of the cactus twats and deliver the item to the cook for a mastery point. Alternatively you get an extra point for ending the first chapter of the story, but it is pretty tedious.

Oh and that achievement where you have to save all 20 refugees from the Herald can go fuck itself, one of the few I failed and if I have to clear all the trash before every attempt, I'm going to send a strongly worded letter to Anet.

Almost done with the second zone, and holy shit is the snow intermezzo a welcome change of pace, so peaceful and quiet. I got the high jump and it makes navigation really simple, shame you can't dismount into glider or switch mounts without unmounting first. I strongly recommend to bind them to individual keys, much smaller pain when you aggro something and need to switch quickly to keep going.

The Choya heart was pretty bonkers.

I meant I need one more out of 6, I'm pretty sure I have all the ones you spoke of, but I'll check again in a bit.

It turned out I needed to get it from the story, but since it was bugged all day I couldn't do them. I just have to go get my rabbit now.

Yeah, the server issues are annoying, but I've seen worse.

I finished the second zone, got my Skimmer and finished the Augury Rock meta, that was kinda fun. There's also a jumping puzzle after you are done, after some of the ballbreakingly diffcult in LWS3, this was pretty chill. I think I'll just skip ahead for the jackal now, since I don't want to be stopped by all the portals.

So I finally got to playing this game after a several year break (before HoT came out). Holy shit, I have no idea what I'm doing, been doing map completions and having a decent time with it and I started a Ranger this time around. One thing I did do is fumble with my 80 Engineer through the PoF Prologue to account unlock my Raptor mount for my Ranger and this made the game 1000% more enjoyable (move speed and jumping to a certain degree).

So I didn't realize there was flying, (well gliding 2.0), this is actually something I will work towards.

250g for the scavenger hunt, ouch.

Who am I kidding, I'm farming that thing right after I 100% the maps and finish the story.

Zaphid Zaphid Remember that to use the portal, you need the rank 3 mastery in Jackal. Btw, the Jackal is 200 contract and 20Gold.

I finally got it to Rank 3 yesterday, a lot of the portals are not really places you can't reach otherwise as much as they are shortcuts.

I skipped getting the Skimmer masteries because I thought the Jackal portal ability would be more useful than the Skimmer rank 3 ability, turns out you need the rank 3 ability of the Skimmer a lot in the 3rd zone, and in a few places in the 4th zone. Again, it's often shortcuts more than requirement, but there are a few places where it's required.

I need Skimmer rank 3 for one Mastery in the 2nd zone, I am also missing a Mastery in the Temple of Primeval Kings or whatever its called to north-east. I can't seem to figure out how to reach it.

I absolutely love the way they handle the masteries in this expansion. There's not real content that's gated behind the masteries, except some mastery points, or some map completion stuff. Nothing really like, you can't progress. Also, the xp requirement is fairly low, so you can earn them fairly fast just playing through normally...doing story, events as you pass them by, and zone completion stuff.

I'm thinking the expansion might not have a very long life, but the quality of the content is top notch. I might actually bother with my alts this time around. Had like 5 in original game, but only 1 through HoT, a 2nd one that I did just before expansion came out.

I think I will actually play a few alts once I am done with this one.

Malinatar Malinatar Yeah that Griffon mount looks pretty cool. I need to finish the PoF storyline so I can unlock the achievement for it. Doesn't look too bad to do.

I think it'll be the new farm area, and that's a good thing. Enemies are challenging but not infuriating, which is also a nice change from HoT. Only thing I hate is getting ass rammed by a hydra when I'm fighting that damn Djinn in a bottle.

Really enjoyed this expansion so far. The zones are huge, lots to explore. Finished the story, that was fun and not too tough, didn't die that much.

Working on the griffon mount. Should have it tonight or tomorrow. Not sure what to do in PoF after the griffon mount though.

Farm in original / HoT/ or more farming in PoF...

Anyway, I like PoF! prefect casual MMO, like prefect!

Funny to see how the materials prices pretty much cratered across the board, I guess nobody is really crafting anything yet and there are no new legos to suck it all up. They pretty much had to lower the xp requirements for masteries, since there are like 1-3 huge metas for you to grind, just wandering around is horribly ineffective.

I finished up the PoF story - it ended kind of abruptly I thought, I was like, wow, well then. Starting to work on the griffon mount now and finishing up the last few things I need for the holosmith ascended weapon collection. And map completion, I have the first three, but the last two look like they are gonna be a pain to 100%. I spent all day running around the goddamn Riverlands looking for 1 rogue POI and here it was a waterfall in the SE corner that didn't show up as undiscovered on the map.

I still don't quite know what the hell to do with holosmith, but man it is fun to jump in there and lay down a burst of sparkly fiery death with prisms and shit flying everywhere. And then people going 'whoa wtf was that? That looks awesome!'

Halloween event should hit just as the PoF new car smell is wearing off too, so that is a bonus!

I haven't finished the story, far from it actually. I just started the first part that leads to the 3rd map.

I did get the rank 3 ability on the skimmer, so I have all 4 mount at rank 3 which allowed me to completely finish map 1 and 2, completion and all mastery points.

Started on map 3 for completion and mastery points. I am doing the story with a friend, and he doesn't play as much so I am not far in the story itself. Pretty sure I'll have all maps completed before I finish the story. :)

There's a cave in the east of riverlands with a plant patch that has a late blooming elon lilly, collect 10 for "something" and seems to spawn once a day. I don't even want to look up where it leads, I'm just happy I discovered something like this for myself.

PoF really is the perfect casual MMO.

That's one of the most interesting about GW2, it rewards exploration like no others, even if the reward sometimes is just a chest that contains random useless stuff. Go out of your way to reach a hard to reach place, and maybe you'll find a collectable items for an achievement.

As you said it's a great casual MMO, and PoF has, even by GW2 standards, great content, possibly the best GW2 has offered yet.

I'm hoping to find Glint's resting place, I loved finding little things from the books in the zones. I'm just now entering the second zone and that starting second mission for the area is a bitch. I'm going to have to change from a glass cannon spec to somethin more tanky/heal friendly to deal with it.

Weaver is an interesting profession, I'm having a good time playing around with it. Makes me wonder how the new Mesmer/Warrior professions play.

While waiting for Critical Mass update? I see what you did there :)
