You should definitely let her know that you told your internet buddies about her butt rash.

^This.

And I'm off to the hospital in the morning to get my cardioversion and something called a TEE, transesophageal echocardiogram, to make sure my blood hasn't clotted in my heart over the past week. It's basically a camera on a stick that they run down your throat. Yippee.

That procedure doesnt sound so nice, but id take that any day over a chance to die early of (painful) embolism.

I was in the operating room, had my IV in my arm, they had sprayed my throat with some numbing agent and my Doc all of a sudden goes 'STOP!'. My pacemaker/defibrilator had corrected my rhythm two nights ago, according to the readouts.

A little confused and blurry at the moment, goin' back to bed.

Last night and today I started getting some seriously swollen and sore lymph nodes on both sides of my head from below the back corner of my jaw line up to the front of my ear. I haven't chewed since friday and I remember this happening the last time I stopped chewing for a bit but not as severe. No idea what the connection is though. If this shit isn't a whole lot better by tomorrow morning I'm going to the doctors.

Chew as in Chaw?

That really shouldn't happen. You got thrush or something?

Antibiotics, go get some!

Could be mumps and should you happen to look like this when you take a glance in the mirror you are prolly infertile by now. Not sure if that would be a good thing considering the tranny history of this board.

I saw a TEE during my first semester of nursing school. It is amazingly cool but in terms of patient comfortability, I would say it is not comfortable. They are sticking a scope down your throat to look at your heart. They numb it, so it's not as bad as a urinary catheter or NG tube, but, still uncomfortable.

I came out okay after participating in tests after my uncle died. He was my dad's identical twin and they both died within a month of coming down with bronchial pneumonia. My dad was pretty fat when he died, so everybody kind of figured it was an issue with his general physical conditions that contributed to his death, but my uncle was in prime condition, healthier than me, honestly.

They can't confirm it's the same thing that killed both of them, since dad only checked into a walk in clinic a few days before he kicked it, but it was bronchial pneumonia for him and death 2 weeks later, bronchial pneumonia and death a month later for his identical twin.

Maybe I'm being a bit superstitious, but it's hard for me to ignore the circumstances. Regardless, after my uncle kicked it I amazingly wound up with pneumonia while chilling in the hospital waiting for the poor guy to die. I was freaking, as were my family members, so I stayed in and gave them leisure to do whatever the hell they wanted to.

It seems like I'm fine. I've smoked for 10 years, done horrible, horrible, horrible things to my body but I'm okay. I'm clear of lung cancer, of the madness of whatever just killed my dad and uncle, and apparently cool despite the abuse I've inflicted upon my lungs for years. I've nearly cut out smoking but it's terribly hard with alcohol, would love to hear some tips for quitting from actual people.

I'm still kind of scared of this fibrosis thing, since the doctors told me that there's really not much you can do about it other than experimental drugs? But my lungs look okay so I'm happy about that.

I don't mind dying, but I'd rather die exploding or getting hit by a meteor or something rather than seeing the way a person with shit lungs dies.
