Getting hit by a meteor has to be, without exception, the best death. See you'd be tempted to say heart attack while fucking. But there's 2 problems with that. Death is not instantaneous in that case, and you probably didn't pop one off. So it's more like ultimate fail than ultimate win. Getting exploded you would hear a noise and see some light and you'd just start thinking to yourself, "Hey? What's that?" and then you're exploded.
Doesn't sound superstitious to me. When you father and his twin die from what is probably the exact same thing then maybe that one thing is something to be concerned about. Whether it's cancer, or fibrosis, or a bullet in the head.
Edit: About the smoking... I wish I knew. If it's mostly a problem for you when you're drunkers then it's passed the physiological and is into the psychological. There's plenty of treatments available to kick the physiological habit... patches, gums, a needle in the nose (no lie, a shot straight up your nose). All I can say is that quitting smoking is a fight but in order to stop smoking it's a fight you lose. When that compulsion hits and you reach for the stogie my personal reaction used to be "NO. I can't do that!" and then it becomes a contest of wills that I'm just going to lose given time. But when the temptation hits and you reach for the stogie and you think, "Aww man. I don't do that anymore" then it becomes an admission of defeat. Either way you lose, so you might as well lose the way that results in less lung cancer.
Source: I'm quite the expert. I've quit smoking about 5 times so far!
