I used it in a N'zoth list when it first came out, 20 games later I can tell you the card is okay. Certainly better than Azure Drake or Guardian or Crusader, it can just solidify a game hard if you get a third equality or a clutch blessing of kings. Heal a little, get a card, crash into their Azure Drake is pretty typical. It's just not really what the deck needed. It needs better early game, so the matchups are basically the same with or without it. If it was a control meta it would be pretty awesome. So, Ivory Knight. Looks cool, but is it actually any good? Two things I can most directly compare it to are Guardian of Kings and Grand Crusader.
Ivory Knight. Pros: Body + healing, extra resource that is pick best 1 of 3. Cons: Weak body for casting cost, paladin already has lots of healing
Guardian of Kings. Pros: Body + healing, decent body, no chance of getting a weak heal. Cons: Slow, underpowered card for cost, paladin already has lots of healing
Grand Crusader. Pros: Acceptable body for casting cost, extra resource, possibility of getting extremely high value card. Cons: Lack of discover means it's also possible to get extremely low value card.
I'm not convinced Ivory Knight is better than either of those two, and neither of them see play as it is.
Kindly Grandmother is slow but good value. Currently, hunter only exists in the meta because it can pressure fast warrior decks. So, I'm not so sure we'll see much of that card.
It could fit in some yogg/n'zoth hybrid though.
How's that a counter to ghoul? If I ghoul your kindly, it's essentially playing a 3/2 beast for 2 mana. Any other 2 drop played on turn 2 lives through the ghoul.
Also, how does a 1/1 on turn 2 not matter? That's horrible tempo, akin to skipping the turn unless your opponent played a 2/1 on turn 1 and can't deal with your drop.
