I would love if they added cards likeDuressorDespiseto give you ways to actually interact with the stupid combos. Will probably never happen though. Even a high costed "target player discards two random cards" would be amazing. The devs have such a hardon for the word random on all their cards already, so why not.
I think cards like that would be a great addition. I don't see them being super overpowered either because they aren't helping your board control on the turn that you play them. Any card that could potentially let me toss out an auctioneer from a miracle rogue is a win in my book!

That would be nice, I don't like to complain. But I would love cards that allow you to actually DO SOMETHING when playing against a Miracle Rogue deck. I feel like there is very little you can do to play around the Miracle Rogue. If his hand is decent and you have no way to get rid of the Auctioneer you're at the mercy of his combo/card draw shit. Its a matchup that is nothing but RNG, and I don't like that.
A neutral card that revealed stealth would help a lot too. Blew my mind the other day when Lightning Storm didn't reveal concealed units, what the fuck?
You talking about hitting or actually taking it out of stealth? It should hit it from my understanding but leave it in stealth.

Oh, so Rag isn't deciding games? Tinkmaster wasn't deciding games? Pagle wasn't deciding games? The random effect cards and abilities in HS are fucking annoying. They range from mild pain in the ass to completely game changing. They are the worst part of the game.

I played MTG like crazy back in the day to the point of playing on pro-tours and getting a decent DCI rating. I really enjoyed it and would consider coming back save the thousands of dollars I would need to spend on cards.
Why would I play Hearthstone instead of mtg? It looks exactly like mtg online with a easier/dumber game from what I have seen? I am thinking of giving it a shot because I hear so much about it and really want to play a TCG again but I cannot get past that those thoughts.

Why not just try it? It's free and the client is reasonably small, any information given by someone else will be opinions...

As someone who was quite passionate about Magic until money forced me to stop, Hearthstone really just helps scratch the CCG itch sometimes. It, to me, is completely a worse game, but it is fun enough and I haven't had to spend a cent on it to play.

Yea, it's very simple. Simple doesn't mean bad, but the lack of cards really exacerbates that feeling right now. I don't think Naxx willreallydo much either. There is no where near the deckbuilding strategy as in MTG, it's like endless T2 where the meta just keeps rotating. The fact that the decks really don't change much except when they rebalance cards is a turn off.
Otherwise decent game, would play it a lot more if it were expanded significantly.
30 news cards is way too few to shake things up. I honestly wish they would have just devoted the resources to making 100-200 new cards instead of the single player experience. If they added 200 more cards you'd see a lot more variety in the decks you are playing against instead of the same shit game after game. People in ranked are playing the same 1 or 2 decks for each class with very little variation.

In their defense, a lot of the work that went into Naxx was simply creating the infrastructure to support additional adventure mode scenarios and the release of new cards.
With that being said, 1 year and only 30 new cards is way too few and we really need a full fledged expansion sooner than later.
You got it. Looking at the magic wiki, magic added 600-1000 cards per year to get to the ridiculous complexity and variation it has now. I can barely bring myself to get my dailies done anymore here.

Your argument is invalid because they are making money hand over fist and can't even release an Android client in a timely fashion. They could literally do whatever they fucking want at any pace, but they choose not to. We are not talking about Bob's Garage Games here.

Blizzards problem is that they just take to damn long to do anything in their games. If they were to release 200 cards at once they would probably want to spend over a year testing it first.

That doesn't matter. We're talking about a very basic card game here. And even with more complicated games, it's not like they don't have the money to do whatever. Games been out for long enough now to add some real content to it. Especially when content is basically 2 numbers a special rule and a picture.

They changed one card's mana cost by 2 and it rocked the entire meta's world. If you think 30 cards won't do the same and more, that's pretty naive, but it also speaks to the game's balance. To my knowledge they've never announced a plan to invalidate sets to allow that kind of card influx which could also explain the slow, deliberate development time. This isn't Magic and it isn't trying to be even though the influences are there.
They fill different niches and you can play both. My roommates and I are all card gamers and out of the four of us, two have played hearthstone regularly for the last 8 months and the other two tried it for a week or two and it just held no interest for them. Give it a try. It's free to play, a quick download, and polished. You won't regret spending an evening seeing what the buzz is about even if it isn't your thing.
