Antique healbot killed my freezemage goodtimes

There's ~3 cards I'm testing/alternating/switching out atm. Shieldbearer is one of them, and whenever I take it out for, say, another Lightning Bolt or a Puddlestomper or whatever, I find myself needing it. It's done me a lot of good, surprisingly. Also, Vitality Totem is a new test as well, in place of a Flametongue. Crackle is another card I'm not sure about yet, it's been doing me a lot of good, but I might favour putting in a little more face damage.

If you don't draw any Warleaders/Siltfin in the first 10 turns, you're in trouble, but if you manage to get one, things go quite smoothly. The key is holding onto Rockbiter/Earth Shock/Lightning Bolt till the right moment. I lose to Control Rogue, but even then, it takes a really long time to lose. Every time I've drawn Neptulon long enough to survive the next turn or two, I win.

Here's Sjow's Control Warrior from a few days ago:

sjow warrior god - Hearthstone Decks

Personally, I didn't like it. I was having way too many issues of aggro completely ruining my day while I sat on a bunch of 6+ cost cards (It was terrible to mulligan away a bunch of 5+ cost cards and get an even worse hand in return). I felt it was way too top heavy. So I made the following changes.

I dropped the following:
2X Whirlwind (I'll explain why below)
1X Big Game Hunter (he's a meta card and I've been running into more aggro than BGH targets)
1X Harrison Jones (another meta card but he was too slow in a lot of the matches I was put up against)
1X Alexstraza (probably my most controversial drop but I found she's too expensive. She might be clutch in a few games but, more often, she's a dead card for me and a nightmare if I mulligan into her)

I added:
2x Unstable Ghouls (I like these guys better than Whirlwind. Played right, they trade, straight up, with a 3/2 minion and they really slow down all the 2/1s and 1/1s out there while still activiating Acolytes and Armorsmiths)
2x Sen'Jin Shieldmaster (Sludge Belchers are still in but getting a decent taunt out a turn earlier is often clutch and allows the Sludge Belcher to seal the deal)
1x Loatheb (Meta card but I find he's much more useful than Harrison right now. Harrison is good against 4 classes. Loatheb is good against all decks except Zoo).

I know that Sjow is considered one of the best Control Warrior players out there but I really felt his deck was too top heavy. And that makes sense when he's playing in the high legend meta which is a lot slower than the ladder meta. So I needed to speed his deck up because nothing was worse than passing on turn 4 because I still didn't have a playable card.

So far it's done pretty well for me. Zoo hasn't been an issue for me with all the taunts, removal and health gain. Hunter is in my favor (but by no means a sure win). Aggro, in general, is in my favor. The typical Freeze Mage and Miracle Rogue (which for some reason still seems to exist) are easy wins. My hardest matchups are, by far, Priests because the better my deck is, the better theirs is too. The new Priest is super annoying with even more ways to steal your crap thanks to Shrinkmeister and tons of removal.

Feel free to critique.

A little salty losing to a Paladin who drafted 5 fucking Blessing of Kings. I had silences for the first 3 and was able to deal with the 4th but the 5th was just too much.

My crappy Druid draft went 3/3. But on a bright note, I finally got an odd amount of gold to bring me to an even number (90 currently) so I can stop doing Arena. It's the OCD in me but I really hate seeing my gold counter end in a 5.

Clockwork Giant is epic.

I'd definitely stay away from Foe Reaper. He just isn't good enough. Tirion is a great class legendary but only if you actually play paladin. Same for Malganis. I have Trogzor and would craft him over Foe Reaper. Other more 1337 players will have to give you better advice.

I wouldn't play paladin without Tirion, he's a must craft if you're serious about the deck. Dr Boom is the most widely played neutral GvG legendary, Vol'Jin is probably the best class legendary. Gallywix and Neptulon are both very good, but I haven't really seen shaman or rogue decks emerging from the scrum yet, everyone is too busy joygasming over unstable portal.

I have a very strange druid mill deck that seems to be working decent.

Biggest thing I think people have trouble with when doing it is trying to win by killing the opponent with milling.

It should be try to keep board presence while making it impossable for them to use more then 1 or 2 cards a time through cold light Oracle / naturlize and cho.

Also try to use anything that makes cost more for your opponent to use minions. Then just go to town by playing your buffs and minions.

The problem I've had with mill decks is once you're out of the garbage tier constructed ranks(like 12+) and before you hit legend, you basically play against aggro decks like 80% of the time, and milling an aggro deck is hard as fuck when all their shit costs 1 or 2 mana to begin with and the only limit they have is how many cards they draw. Not always the case mind you and you can sometimes keep control of shit, but it either feels like you're helping them if you give them draws or you never get to mill because you have to spend all your ressources dealing with the board, and they rarely end up discarding shit past the first few turns regardless. Might be better with explosive sheeps now though, last time I tried one was during naxx release days.

Clockwork Giant makes Mill Druid a much more viable deck. Your matchup against aggro is still pretty bad, but not nearly as bad as it was pre-GvG.

Yah it can be a pain but then again I just like playing and trying fun decks.

May try the sheep thing though in it to see how it goes.

Here's strifecro's paladin list from the Kinguin charity event that he absolutely demolished with. Dunno how ladder viable it is, but he went 3-0, 3-0, 4-3, and 4-0 with it in tournament play. Fucking rekt. He also has a pretty nice mech mage list that is a slower control list instead of the faster aggro/midrange decks that everyone has been playing with, but yall can google that yourselves.

Anyone else been playing arena exclusively, and only when you have dailies? I've been having much more fun with this game since I switched to that type of play. It's a lot slower, obviously, so it likely won't appeal to probably everyone here, but just thought I'd recommend it.

A shitty arena run can still suck, but it's much less rage inducing if you know it means you'll have the gold for another run immediately after instead of having to face constructed against stacked decks and downrankers. This is probably ideal for someone just getting started and doesn't have a ton of time to play.

I did like 6 arenas since GvG launch and drafting is a lot harder and I don't think it's only about skill. There's a lot more card synergy, which is usually too good to not chase, but sometimes you just get fucked over by the selections or cornered into bad picks. If they gave you +5/10 cards to pick and then you simply cut 5 shitty cards to get down to 30 and gave hard limits on how many times you can run into a single copy, it would be much better. Because when you run into a druid with 4 swipes, you are simply fucked.

Not exclusively no, but I try to use arena for dailies as much as possible. Especially the 60 gold ones, then depending how it goes maybe continue the same entry with tomorrow's daily if it works out that way. I like arena but it does fucking suck in a different way to lose to arena RNG than in constructed.

Oh, of course arena still has its own problems. Personally, I prefer those problems(bad drafts) to the ever mounting pile of cards that I don't have. I'm still missing probably the majority of blues from expert packs, let alone purples and oranges. How is constructed supposed to be fun without those cards?

And yes, I have put together that hunter deck gavinrad posted a little while back. It's fun and cheap, but decks like that are the rarity. Arena at least gives me some variety, even if it is shitty variety sometimes. Been fun playing around with Malorne even though he gets immediately killed whenever I play him, I still win on card trade.

Lol here's my latest Arena as a Warlock. I won this game at 30 life. 2 Healbots in Warlock is so ridiculous. Wow.

Yes, this is how I started playing around the time when I was learning the but didn't have cards to complete legendary decks. It's a great way to play. Eventually you'll get tired of it and want to construct, and hopefully you'll have cards by then. Them not letting you select GvG or classic in the arena rewards is a real problem they need to address.

The fact they feel it's okay to take a dump on the large section of their player base that isn't close to finished filling out classic is very questionable.

Been running Troggzor and Malorne in my Ramp deck, They have been pretty awesome. They give people fits.

Also have a Mech-Bear-Cat in there, but only as a placeholder until I craft Dr. Boom

Yeah, I'm not sure what they were thinking there. I'm not going to spend money on this game, and I'm especially not going to spend money to craft or chance at the still useful cards from expert.
